Rafy

So the Steam logo just popped up on the Final Fantasy XIII portal

and it's on the Square-Enix site as well:

Hopefully if this is true it means we are also getting Final Fantasy XV on PC as well. From what I've heard though from other people FF XIII is pretty bad.

Either way, getting FF XV on PC would be pretty awesome!

UDPATE: It has been confirmed!

FINAL FANTASY XIII SERIES
ANNOUNCED FOR WINDOWS PC

LONDON (18th September, 2014) – Square Enix Ltd., publishers of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in Europe and PAL territories, today announces the FINAL FANTASY® XIII trilogy of games is headed to Windows PC, with the first in the series, FINAL FANTASY XIII, due for release on 9th October 2014.

The game will be available to download via the Square Enix online store and the Steam PC digital service (amongst others), priced at £10.99/€12.99. The game is available to pre-order now via the Square Enix Store and Steam, with those pre-ordering receiving 10% off. It is also confirmed that the FINAL FANTASY XIII trilogy will offer a set of Steam Trading Cards for players to collect and exchange.

On its original console release in 2010, FINAL FANTASY XIII marked the dawning of a new era for the celebrated series, bringing the game to multiple hi-definition consoles simultaneously for the first time in its history. The original game and subsequent adventures in the FINAL FANTASY XIII trilogy will soon be available for PC gamers to play for the very first time, with all games in the series due for release by Spring 2015.

FINAL FANTASY XIII expands on the rich traditions of the series, with producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Motomu Toriyama, character designer Tetsuya Nomura and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo combining their creativity to deliver a beautifully epic FINAL FANTASY universe. Additionally, Masashi Hamauzu presents a sweeping soundtrack while movie director Takeshi Nozue and his team of artists adorn the game with seamless cinematic sequences.

The most recent release in the FINAL FANTASY XIII series, LIGHTNING RETURNS™: FINAL FANTASY XIII, launched on 14th February 2014 to critical acclaim. I just want to play a newer, non-MMO Final Fantasy game. Glad it's coming, but I don't think I'm going to be able to purchase it until it's on sale sadly.

EDIT: I'm confused here. Why does that release date say 2010?

FFXIII sucked. It gave me a aneurysm whenever Vanille opened her stupid face, and the battle system makes me snore.

Give us FFXV.

EDIT: But if FFXV coming depends on how well this sells, I'll back it.

why do so many good cases only come in black and white

Isn't FF XIIV the MMO One? I've never played a FF game.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

All 3 of them did. They had a lot of poor design choices such as AI-based gameplay worse than PErsona 3, and characters about as lovable as a tumblr blogger.

FF XI and FFXIV are MMO's. All the others are turn-based RPGs on consoles.

Mm, if you look at the way it's written out, PC comes before the date which is then followed by the other platforms, I'm leaning to think that their format would be date then preceded by platform it's released on after.

As for this, as much as I hate FFXIII, I might actually buy this. Not because I like this game or want to support Square, I've done that already with FFVIII, VII and other Square games, but because I want them to know that the PC market is worthwhile to port and release their games on. This might give way to FFIX a title I've been meaning to play for over a decade, maybe FFX? I'd give a lot to have the FFX hd remaster on PC.

I'm glad that they're considering the PC more now, even aside from the fact that I've loved the series for ages, but seeing such a large company in the video gaming industry actually take considerations toward PC? I feel like this is good attention, good attention, not long now and PC will rule the world. *-*

Vanille and Snow suck but Lightning is a totally awesome bad ass, as are Fang and Sazh.

I actually didn't mind XIII that much when I simply accepted it was a linear battler.  I actually really enjoyed the battle system, switching up your stances and trying to find the best rotation to deal with each pack/boss.

The remaining team characters need to be wiped from history though.

What's with those "it sucks but I'll buy it" comments? You know what you get when you support crap games? Is not better games but more crap games and square certainty has enough of those so careful what you wish for

In all honesty, if we consider what has the potential to make it onto steam, it'll be their proper series games. So, take out spinoffs and cash ins.

Then, it'll either be porting their older games onto PC or put their newer games onto PC, if the former you can look forward to FFIV, FFVI and FFIX potentially, if the latter then you can look forward to FFXV and KHIII, both titles of which millions are looking forward too.

Either way, the potential is there for a very enjoyable future considering Square Enix and their PC escapades, so I'm willing to show them with my money that it's a worthwhile venture.

I'd prefer if they got rid of the turn based style that they have and go back to the system in FF12. That or make the turnbased combat a bit more like Legends of Dragoon on the PS1 (Which stands as the best turn-based game for me). I loved how you would need to press the button on time to continue the combo of the attack.

EDIT: Also, how I missed the 4 discs for one game that we got for these kind of games, which FF7 (not sure if other FFs had it) and Legends of Dragoon both had. If only they gave us the 4 discs of content today for these games (which may be equivalent to a month of playtime possibly)...

Yeah wasn't FFXIII the one that sucked complete ass?

It wasn't that bad the game is pretty decent and can give you easy 40h+ of fun.

I enjoyed it and if they bundle the games for cheap I would buy it.

This also gives me hope that we'll get FF15 and KH3 on PC eventually.

Yes, this is like bringing Ryse to PC, yes it's been console only but it's a fundamentally crap game big woop, port something better instead like oh IDK maybe FFIX, X or XII.

7 and 8 are already ported. 4 5 and 6 are available virtually everywhere else to the point I don't need em (I own them for gba and NDS) and I'm not big on 10 or 12 and thats about it really.

I much rather square focus on another deus X, another tomb raider, etc.

"I don't like it therefore no one else should have the option available to them because I'm a cunt."

I'd love to have 12 on PC because the battle system in that game was absolutely divine. The HD remaster would be a good option to port over as well.

Like I also said, there's a potential for future games to come on PC as well, this means KHIII and FFXV, both games that would absolutely shine on PC(if they're good, I have my doubts though.)

Along with FFIX, another good contender for being brought to PC, they could also bring over the new KH remixes or whatever they're called too.

4, 5 and 6 I'd agree don't really need to be brought over.

Also, just so you know, we are getting another Tomb Raider, http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-08-01-square-enix-confirms-next-gen-tomb-raider-sequel

It's not like they're dropping Deus Ex either, http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/10/02/deus-ex-continuing-with-universe-new-pc-game/

So don't make it out like they're not working on these titles, there's nothing wrong if they bring their previous titles to PC, I'm pretty sure they could spare the manpower.

1 chill the fuck out I wasn't disrespectful to anyone.

2 Drop the straw man argument: I never said people who like them shouldn't get it I specifically said people who said they DON'T like it but will still buy it.

Dude I've already lost hope in Kingdom hearts on PC, don't get my hopes up.
Honestly I would have a non-stop orgasm for a year if they released KH HD 1.5 + KH HD 2.5 + KH3 on PC.
I can't see the port happening though.

I'm perfectly content with waiting a few more years until RPCS3 reaches a similar point in compatibility and refinement to PPSSPP or PCSX2
On that note PPSSPP is quite good, IMO it's one of the best examples of how user friendly and well optimized an emulator can and should be, and a majority of the code that started it all was written by a single person.

So much yes... This means FFXV and KH3 have the possibility of coming to pc.

It's not the first time games have been put on the market to test the waters. Fire Emblem Awakening was going to be the last Fire Emblem game if it didn't pass 500,000 copies.

All the FF ports so far have been garbage, and quite frankly the series as a whole is mediocre, but if it affects the chances of more JRPGs coming to PC I sure as hell will support it.
