500 dollar computer or xbox one?

Dsalazar1

Yes but it allows for future expansion and more money saved over time.

If you have a bad start to a system you will end up throwing more money in to it than needed. Get a good base for future upgrades to not be such a kick in your wallet.

Ok, not what i meant by prebuilt. haha. What i meant was, yes your custom build will be better, but for $500 you won't be able to get everything. well at least to high standards. sometimes, SOMETIMES, a prebuilt will give you what you cant have. At lower prices is all

True agreed. The best choice is to go all out as much as you can on the MB and CPU. Everything else can be changed later without you having to worry about the OS.

I built mine for double, 1k NZD. Needed to be given a GPU and a tower but i did it. I'll have to throw in a new GPU next year but for the money i've spent and the parts i got, couldn't got a better setup :)

PC: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Gigabyte X570 UD Corsair Vengence 32gb 3200MHZ Gigabyte RTX 2070 Intel 512gb boot / Seagate 2tb spinner Windows 10 Corsair 4000D black

I would start with an apu and then upgrade it over time.

Apu

Dedicated gpu

Better cpu

Etc.

And so GabeN has told us to march forthith unto the Land of Holy welding our swords of mice, shields of keyboards, and helmets of Oculus Rifts where we shall reclaim it-which is rightfully ours-from the PUNY Console Peasants from whom armed only with mere controllers we shall decimate in all forms of battle and we shall dominate even in their most ridiculous tradition and infatuation of CoD. Yes, my brothers- sisters and trans sexuals too- we shall destroy the inferior of races with our might and majesty. And if any Peasants wish to join us they must speak now or forever perish. -Ancient Speech from a Leader of Old, Book of Murratri section 2

Yeah, everything else can be swapped. So maybe spend like 300 on a motherboard and CPU and just kinda figure it out from there? I mean it only leaves him with $200... Not much moving room there. Maybe a nice hard drive too because if he runs out, that data transfer is a bitch haha

Heck he could start with the CPU graphics for a while, just while he saves up for a good one. I almost did till dad gave me his old 5800.

... portable mech HD"s that fail on you before you finished transfer is a bitch.

I mean... i assume his budget is a bit more than $500 because i think he's just comparing the xbox to a computer... so if that's the case, i would just build a computer haha

Why are you suggesting an apu and a video card? If you're going to get a videocard, get an fx series amd cpu.

yeah just wondering if getting a 500 dollar desktop is better than getting an xbox one, (just the computer)

i should go with the pc, because you also need to buy gold/live for xbox to use it so that's another 60 dollar and on pc you can buy alot of games for 60 dollars especially on steam

but do you like to mod your games, that is the question. if you do a pc is good you can upgrade it every year ore so if you don't you can just join the console community.

A 600 computer because the amount you'll pay for xbox live will end up being 600 for a few years. Not the mention the money you don't save without steam.

If all you have is $500, with no possibility of getting more money, get a console. I would advise you to continue saving your money, you really don't want a $500 pc.

Xbone is a full package and it will (probably) take a longer amount of time for it to get outdated.

PC has a HUGE array of games that the consoles don't have. PC has games for cheap (Steam Sales). A PC can be used for a bunch of other things that a console can't be used for.

It really depends upon what you want out of your gaming system. I personally would choose PC any day but it's up to you.

HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Green | Case: Fractal Design Core 2500 | OS: Windows 10 Home
