A 500 dollar PC is kind of crap, I dunno. Console bashing is popular on this forum is popular, but dirt cheap PCs, I'd rather just console if its for gaming since exclusives.

Xbone is obviously better because it is next gen.

Also, my vote is for PC with Athlon X4 760k and a 750ti.

if I was going to get either console, PS4 would be the way to go, but I still prefer PC. if I had a console and a PC, actually the console i would get would be the WII U. the types of games are good for content and cartoony games don't need to look realistic.

Xbone.

It would depend, if the OP wanted a computer with the entire package(like having peripherals included) then a xbox one would be better because the performance on the pc isn't that great. If the op just want the desktop then a pc would be better because you don't have to spend money on peripherals and you would spend your money on better pc parts.

Pretty much this, except I'd say PS4 and WiiU alongside PC is the best way to go. That's not including handhelds of course.

Really just depends on what exclusives you want.

That's pretty much my reasoning. Also, a $500 computer isn't exactly..great..

Computer, it can do everything you'd want it to and more.

You can play Xbox One Games (such as CoD, TitanFall, and more) as well as other PC indie games.

Now, a lot of people argue that "Consoles are superior whenever you have friends over" and those people would be wrong. If you already have an Xbox 360, or any other console controllers lying around, you can plug them either directly into the PC with a usb cable, or you can buy a wireless dongle and sync them like you would with a normal xbox (dongle costs $11 shipped on amazon). Then, download dolphin (Gamecube/Wii emulator), and go ham on mario kart and mario party with your friends. Having a controller is a must though for dolphin. Trying to use a keyboard is a really bad experience, albeit not impossible.

Computer... XB1 is about equal to a $300 computer... it's sad really, the PS3 and Xbox360 when released cost almost $750-800 to make the equivalent and Microsoft and Sony actually LOST money making them at first... but even on the DAY of release they were/are making ~$100 profit... and it's not like they designed them too good either the consoles for example now have 8GB of ram and never use it; Gaming PC's of the higher calibur rarely do just gaming...(EG: WatchDogs @Ultra only uses 6GB or the fact PS3s had .5GB)... they easily could've only put in 4GB and gotten a much stronger processor or 2GB and an even stronger still processer(both GPU AND CPU)... it's just rediculous and a marketing scheme

Of course, though I don't mean buying them all at once. If we're speaking this gen as a whole, I'm just saying those three platforms will end up being the way to go.

I personally rock my PC and a WiiU (although I have every console before this new gen).
Between the $500 PC and Xbox One however, I'd go for the Xbox One if I only needed to game. Go PC if, well, you don't have a PC to use.

You should try building a pc parts list for under $500 and see where you end up. Or maybe someone on here on the forums could do that for you. I suck at doing that, because i think i have the best deal but then someones liek "well why dont you do this instead of that" and then i feel dumb.

Edit: Never mind, someone beat me to it.

I am whatever I am.
