Headphone Recommendations

Sadly for me, my Kraken Pro's have finally died, so I need a new headset for around $100. I like to listen to a lot of electronic music (dubstep, house, etc.) and heave metal. This also needs to be good for sound whoring in games as well. I like to travel a lot, so I need something that is light and durable.

Wait, so do you need a headset or a pair of headphones? Your Title and Post contradict each other.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. The HyperX Clouds are probably your best bet if you want a headset in that price range. You can also check out a pair of HD518 + a zalman clip on mic.

I've got a review on the Clouds if you're interested, link in my signature.

Beyer Dynamic Custom One pro and a Modmic....the best of the best

Assuming you didn't read the 'around $100 budget' part (meaning no budget limit considered), COP + modmic are nowhere considered 'best of the best'. It's good, but certainly not 'best of the best'. For wide soundstage, useful for 3D gaming, the HD800 is much better. For natural and nice sound, more suited toward music listening, the Stax series, LCD series, and HE 6 is much better than the COP.

Yeah, founded by Russell Brand, following the hundredth years of the Brand family.....

Well, with that kind of budget, the options aren't much for good stuffs. But I wonder why there aren't many people that recommend Pioneer SEA1000 anymore....

Yeah, those are above 1000$ price tag. the Beyer COP is for 200$. Of course the one at 1200$ are better, i mean, wtf man.

What I think he meant was there's better options than the COP for ~$200, also the way you worded your post was like "yea these are as good as it gets"

That is exactly the point.....

Do you want to recommend a headphone with a budget limit in mind or no?

- If you're going with a budget limit, then wouldn't it be better to stick with the OP's budget limit, which is around $100 (not in the $200 range, like the COP)?

- If you're not going with a budget limit, then why stop at $200 point? Why not go for higher?

Because usually, if you can put 100, it's more easy to go a bit higher, at least, for me, I am easy like this. I can have a budget, and get a bit higher if it's a good idea.

I will recommend a Headset for this gentleman, the steelseries Siberia series. Na!

I mean they are good, I am sure you can find better. But they are really good actually.

Well, I don't know if the general consensus of 'a bit higher' would include something twice the price. And if it does, then it becomes more and more vague. Why only twice the price? Why not 3x? 6x? 12x?

Let me put this in to an analogy:

- I need a new car. My budget is around $50.000

- Get a Nissan Skyline, they're the best of the best (2015 Nissan Skyline GT-R MSRP $100.000)

- They're not the 'best of the best'. They're good, but certainly not the best. Koenigseg Agera R is far better than the Skyline

- The Skyline is a 100 grand car, the Agera R is a 1,5 mill car, wtf man?

- Well, if you want to have a budget limit, why not stick to the 50 grand budget limit? If you're not in a budget limit, why stop at 100 grand? Why not go higher?

- Because if you can put 50 grand, it's more easy to go a bit higher (twice the price, 50 grand more than the original budget)

Hope this puts it into perspective....

*I understand you meant well. The mind is in the right direction. It's the wordings that are ambiguous and could have double (or triple) meanings. It will most probably confuse the OP further more, and implant wrong impression in his mind. COP is the best of the best, well in what category? In all the headphones' universe? Certainly not true. Even in the $200 price level, it's subjective to each individuals.
