Benchmarking with games ?

So I see on some videos - how they put a graph with graphic cards comparison.It's FPS comp. with some of the new games.But I'm asking : How they do that? Is there a software or something ?

Fraps benchmarking it benchmarks your min, max and avg with frame times.

Computing enthusiast. 
I use to be able to input a cheat code now I've got to input a credit card - Total Biscuit

Don't they just run the games and get some averages.. And some games (I think the newest Tomb Raider) has a benchmark or something inside of the game..

Fraps benchmarking it benchmarks your min, max and avg with frame times.

 

Or press when you start and again after you finish. 1min is bit too little to get good comparison.

 

And OP, check some of Linus' videos where they explain tests.
