Bottleneck?

Go to solution Solved by i_build_nanosuits,

Yes, it will. That CPU is very weak & gonna bottleneck card like GTX 760. You should stick with Intel i5 instead.

while an i5 would be a better choice the FX6300 is fine for the games OP listed and will not bottleneck a GTX 760 or R9 280 in MOST games.

OP, these parts would cost you about the same and will deliver MUCH better and more consistent gaming performance:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($179.99 @ NCIX US)

Motherboard: Asus H81M-D PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($44.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $224.98

What games do you play?

if you get grey screen on oc-ing your graphics card, you set the clock too high. try slide up the clock by 5-10 MHz step, if everything is fine, then you can slide up more.

about your cpu, just OC it if your game is slowed down by your CPU (CPU bottleneck). be sure to check your temp if you do OC-ing (either GPU and CPU)
