Corsair K70 RGB Owners; What Do You Think of Your Keyboard?

Zeals

This is a thread aimed at informing other forum members about their experiences with the Corsair K70 RGB and whether or not they would recommend the product to others.

Personally I would give the keyboard a 7/10 in it's current state. The keyboard LEDs aren't as bright as I would like them to be; the driver software I personally find a somewhat buggy and took me a good 40 minutes to get it to do the effect that I wanted, even then it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Personally I also find the spacebar to be a bit finnicky and that the lighting settings do occasionally stop working. I also find that I seem to be 'double tapping' the keys for some reason when I swear I only pressed them once, so that might be a faulty keyboard or some sort of weird software bug. I also noticed a bit of lag coming from the keyboard when you try to type extremely quickly, and if you just spam keys the keyboard would actually freeze and buffer the inputs. But assuming all those are software issues and are fixed with later software revisions I would give the keyboard a score of 9/10, but as mentioned before in its current state 7/10, don't buy it yet.

Didn't Corsair say the lag was a software issue?

They only can be bought at best buy for now right?

The K65 will be a best buy exclusive. K70 (and presumeably K95), are / will be purchasable online through Corsairs website and other retailers like NewEgg and Amazon.

I think the lag has to do with the fact that they are trying to get NKRO with USB. It is probably not perfect, and I think they are hoping to re-release an updated version of the software when they launch the keyboards again.

Do you know when they plan on doing the relaunch? I'm hoping they release MX Browns with the relaunch :( That's all I am waiting on

Wait, so is the relaunch going to showcase some hardware changes as well? If so, should I return my RGB?

I have it, but haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet.

The K70 you purchased sold out on Corsair.com and Amazon in a matter of days.  More stock to both of those places is on the way.

The additional keyboards with MX Blue and Brown switches will be available in the next few weeks.

Hopefully it's fixed with a software/firmware patch over the coming weeks. As for NKRO lagging on USB, I didn't have that issue with my Ducky Shine III.

I LOVE it!...the software isn't real user friendly, I'm sure it's capable of doing a lot more than I've figured out.

Stoggy26 helped me out when I first got it with some profiles and tips (much appreciated).

And like other have said, it's not as bright as I thought it would be.

It's a solid piece and I haven't had any dead lights yet.

I'm very pleased...and as I get more familiar w/the software I'm sure I'll like it even more.

And they do have it in stock as I type this at NCIXUS...I got mine here/free shipping no tax.

I'm just thinking about if I want blues, browns, or if I should just go for reds. I have a Ducky Shine III with browns in it now, and idk if I like the feel of them (kinda mushy at times, and I type very quickly, so half the time I dont feel the bump). I'm wondering if reds might be a good choice for me, or if I should give blues a second shot. That would all determine if I have to wait to get the K70 or not :D

Oh great! I I've never had a mechanical keyboard before and after doing a little bit of research I settled on browns but now I don't know. I don't want mushy keys lol

Idk ever since I read a thread about people posting the pros and cons of different keyswitches, it kinda made me question my choice. I'm honestly still gonna go with Browns, only because the K70 will likely only come with blues and reds, and I'd take brown over either of those. If they  came in clears, that might be another story.

My giant long winded review lol

Honestly this is one of the best keyboard ive tried to date there are a few minor bugs but i think mainly alot of people are not taking the time to do things right took me about 10 mins to set up the software sometimes it glitches which required to unplug and replug only problem i had was the software freezing and saying malfunction which i found out was pressing the caps lock key to fast in short period of time i disabled the caps and havent had a problem the keyboard itself is fine i had it 2 weeks early mistaken in corsair shipping it to me early "not complaining"  the software itself is a tad buggy but nothing that wont be fixed if you follow the simple steps its very easy.also the software is a tad complex but the reason behind that is cause theres limitless number of ways to program the keyboard if you dont have time or patience to make one download one i got alot of tutorials on how to do many things on my youtubechannel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgfCRAZxi0ThL0xQTEPmL1g as well seeing product launches involved with software theres always bugs take Game launches 90% of them that launch within the first few weeks always has bugs or servers crashing I think thats everything sorry for the giant runon sentence dont usually type stuff this long

Been using my keyboard now and it's nice. The only thing I don't like is how complicated the software is but luckily there are tutorials online for that. It's not super hard to figure out after watching some videos but still, I think corsair could have done a better job with it. 9/10

People who say the k70 isn't bright enough:

How bright is the highest setting relative to other keyboards? (ducky shine, k70, blackwidow)?
