Angelbird SSD2go Pocket

I don't know.. i just feel SSDs are good in desktop and notebooks since they are most likely going to run an OS and will resist more shocks when handling them while on.

 

I just don't feel the need of having an external SSD yet. Spec wise I already put what I access less on an external drive so for me even if it just a simple mechanical one I am ok with it.

I would probably use a thumb drive over an external SSD at this point. I have a home server that I use to store basically everything and can access from anywhere with an Internet connection. For me I almost never have a reason to use any external storage devices, so the extra cost isn't justifiable.

I definitely agree. I think the price/GB just isn't worth it at the moment. But time will come when SSD > HDD. It all depends on how much space you need to be portable and durable. My portable HDD will stay in my backpack, and I don't throw that around as it generally has my laptop too. So it's most likely in a safe environment.

 priorities matter . and yes there will be definitely a time but its not in upcoming year

That intro is creepy, but I am damn well happy that they are making decent SSD's like this. Thinking of buying one for my laptop!

Any particular reason to take this one over the Samsung T3?

The SSD2go pocket 512GB costs $350, the Samsung T3 500GB costs $200, 1TB costs $400 and is available at even 2TB capacity for $750.

Angelbird sent over their SSD2go Pocket, an SSD that, well, fits right in your pocket! With its high capacity and portability, does the pocket make sense as an alternative to other portable performance drives like the Corsair Flash Voyager GTX?

 

 

i bought one of those Windows-to-go certified USB drives (the visiontek one with ludicrous heatsink) just to see what the hoo-hah is about. The hoo-hah is definitely about something, holy balls they are quick, you can literally see them bouncing off the USB3 bandwidth ceiling

until SSD's can live as long as HDD's, im keeping my porn on the rust spinner. Who the fuck wants a 2TB ssd anyway ?? thats like dancing in traffic

Are you looking for the newer video of this as they recently did one where everyone got a drive. But basically quality of the Nand and enclosure. Possibly a better connection too (I forget if the new angelbird has 3.1 gen 2)
