POLL: Do you use an Adblocker?

STRMfrmXMN

This came up with a small argument with another forum member. Here http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/215865-am-i-earning-linus-money/

I hate adblockers because it's genuinely ruining the internet. Without ads, most sites will end up dying off.

YOUR OPINIONS. PLEASE KEEP ARGUMENTS TO A MINIMUM OR TO PM'S PLEASE

Thank you.

not afraid to admit it either, as long as i keep linus' sites and channels whitelisted as well as other content creators to whom i think deserve it.

I use an adblocker and whitelist all sites that I visit regularly. I mainly use it because many websites have really intrusive ads that just annoy you and/or waste your time. If I visit a webiste more than twice I will disable it and see how they do ads. If they're intrusive it stays on, if they're fine then I'll happily keep it disabled.

That's exactly me. After Linus' rant, I understood why YouTubers are now all sponsored by Audible, to keep their channel ALIVE.

I am using ad blockers about 3-4 years so when i visit some sites from public pcs i feel like they are something else ! I start it for youtube and some...others ones because most of them where fake and ddistrubing. But i whitelist sites that i know they depend on ads and because i was/am a moderator in a couple of them i know how expensive are the cost for maintenance for the database for the web hosting for back using etx etc. Donations are not the primary funding for most of them because they are not steady and you cannot force or please someone to do it all the time.

What you call wasted time, I call time spent attempting to be nice.
