How much would a xeon phi accelerate rendering

How much would a xeon phi accelerate rendering would it be similar to another cpu or similar to cuda acceleration

hardware acceleration might not detect it, not too sure

I don't think it's really necessary. It's more for like IT firms and that stuff.

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

well it would basically be like having an extra 72 cores on your CPU :P

I don't think anyone can afford one just for rendering though...maybe LMG?

yea  but its pentium d cores not 72 haswell cores for 2,000 dollars otherwise that would be amazing

Would be great for some applications. Seen a blade server outfitted with many coprocessors for geophysics applications that the oil field needed.

The servers price was nearly 6 figures after costs of the hardware, installation, and future support were calculated.
