plz help me

i have recently built my 1st pc. everything going good untill today and pc 3days old. 

my card

msi r9 270 oc 2gb

is getting extreme gpu clock speed drops the temp says it at 46 c . so i know its not getting to hot. on standard clock of 955mhz wen playing star wars the old republicit starts at 955 then drop every couple of seconds to 450 or 300 then bk up again plz help me.

May be the game, does it do it with any other games

@thumperneedshelpplz run Unigine Valley benchmark for a half of an hour and see if the downclocking still happens. If it does you could be looking at a GPU(could be just drivers, could be a faulty card needing an RMA, could be how well you installed it)/PSU problem.

 

Some system specifications would be nice.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

750w corsair psu

 gigabyte 970a ud3p

120gb ssd kingston

8gb 1600mhz ram

msi r9 270

fx 6300

corsair 200r case

extra 140mm fan plus two 120 fans in case

as i said yest and day before it was running the game fine today nope keeps frame drop wen gpu goes down to 450 or 300

I would say trying new amd-catalyst-14.7-rc3-windows-aug12 driver or as it sounds like your CPU is doing more than GPU may help for future. thats all i can offer really. or finding a resolution timer software.
