Computer crashes when opening up games

MagicalKiwi

Okay so recently my computer started to crash whenever I would open up a game. It didn't even need to be a demanding game, just a fullscreen game running at 1080p. Since then I RMA'ed my graphics card thinking that was the issue, because I stopped crashing when I took it out.Hell, I even played CS:GO for 1 1/2 weeks while my GPU got RMA'ed and I didn't crash once. I got a new card back, and I still crash when opening up a game (I have tried CS:GO and Smite). What could be the issue? I am thinking my power supply since I only crash when opening up a power hungry application. My specs are listed below, along with more detail of what happens when I crash.

When I crash (Which only happens when I actually start to play the game, and that includes changing settings) my main 1080p screen turns either black, white, yellow, or blue (not BSOD). My second monitor turns black and shuts off. The sound then turns into a loop (Sounds like RRRRRRRRRRRRRR, as childish as that seems). The only way to recover the computer is to hard restart from the case. I have tried re installing the drivers, switching PCI-E slots for my graphics card, switching power connectors for the GPU, and nothing has worked.

CPU : i5-3570 (non-k)
RAM : 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport (1x8GB)
GPU : EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked
PSU : Corsair CX600
Mobo : ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
OS : Windows 7 Home Premium
HDD : WD 500GB Blue

I have the same problem with my GTX 780 Ti but I think I fucked mine up when I painted the shroud.

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

I haven't installed anything recently, no. I just tried a 2x2GB kit of RAM and I stopped crashing, I was able to play a round or two of CS:GO without crashing.

I'll try that.
