Low PPD and high ETA for high end rig

Go to solution Solved by tobben,

grab yourself a passkey from the folding@ home site, you get it by email, enter it in Your Client, after you have finised 10 bonus point eligible wu's With a Return rate of atleast 80% you will then qualify for the QRB, i'd love to post the links for you but i can't on this crummy Laptop for whatever reason, the link is in the folding faq stickie, or just Google folding passkey.

remove any beta/Advanced flags if you have them, don't need them to receive core 17 wu's anymore, and the folding Client doesn't always take a liking to overclocks, so that is something to be aware of.

EDIT: being eligible for the bonus Points or not does not affect the ETA and TPF, that would probably be the cause of an unstable card/overclock or a bad Wu, most likely Your overclock, might want to dial it back or just set it to Stock if you keep having wacky eta/tpf.

I have a GTX 780 and getting about 36k PPD even when using the beta client type and the new FAHCore_17 WU's, also I am only getting 600 ( yes just 600. Not 600k) PPD from my i5 4670k

Other people get way way wayyyy more than me , what's wrong ?

well firstly, for how long have you been folding? you will see low PPD until you qualify for the QRB(quick Return bonus), so make sure you got a passkey, second you don't need any beta or Advanced flags to get core 17 wu's, they are mainstream now, so remove those flags if you have them, you could potentially get strange wu's that don't work properly, or even wu's that don't reward points.

You're not doing anything else that's intensive and might tax the hardware are you? when you qualify for the QRB i'd say you could expect about 10-20k pdd from that cpu depending on the Wu.

Thanks for the quick reply , no I was not running anything at the time and FAH was set to full. QRB would explain it though , although if there there are any other causes please May someone inform me

Regarding how long I had been running it I was running it over night and had a consistent 36k PPD

Ok thank you, and I have tried stock speeds already but I will definitely try your suggestion. The only reason I was worried is because I want to help the project as much as possible
