Now now, before you guys comment on my choice of hardware, just note that i chose the hardware based on specific needs and also, my budget is kinda unlimited since I get reimbursed the full amount of whatever I purchase, hence a z97 board for a nas. I don't need a gpu, so no gpu as well.

What's the first one for? If it's not for gaming, should have got the Xeon E3-1231V3 instead of 4790K

so i found out the hard way what a mess having 4 hdds and a thick aio would be.
cable managing is a real pain at least the pentium won't need all that airflow.

Not cutting the panels on the node. Hah. I got them all at a cheap price so I just went with it. I don't have a large selection available and noctuas will be really expensive at the number of fans I'm buying. I literally got 2 corsairs for the price of 1 noctua.

UPDATE

 

Currently I have finished assembling the 2 node 304s, oh god the number of cables in the nas.

I also though of switching the panel around but decided against it, looks better the way it is I guess.

setup for the nas was a real pain, problems kept occuring but i finally got it done, after 2 whole days of toubleshooting. mostly thanks to @Vitalius for his help!

 

Now on to the next part of the mod!

 

What color do you think i should have the box enclosing the 2 node 304s be? 

1. All Black

2. Black with maybe some white accents

3. A contrasting color. maybe something extravagant like yellow or teal, or green

Hi bbqsauce, 

 

Looks inspiring. I'd personally go for a contrasting color for the enclosing box, but the black with white details will look cool too. Kudos for the choice of WD RED drives. They are especially designed for NAS and are the solution we recommend for RAID configurations.
