Would a Blue LED fan be too much?

79wjd

I'm looking to replace my rear 140mm exhaust with something quieter...and I'd prefer to not have to control it (i.e. I'd rather just run it at 100%).

Would something like this look good, or would it be too much? I'm thinking its going to be too much, but I'm not sure.

/Also, are there any other recommendations? It's going to be visible so it needs to be black and/or blue. As well as be very quiet.

I was also looking at AF140's but the non-LED version is $8 more than the LED version, and according to the db rating, neither ar super quiet--although...I dont really put much faith in those readings since they seem like they're incredibly inaccurate.

If that'd be mine rig, I would say that there's enough blue (your rig looks awesome btw), but if you want even more blue, THROW SOME MOAR BLUE!!!! BRING ON THE BLUE!!!!!!

I think that a non-LED version AF140 in the back with a blue ring would look really sharp, so I vote for non-LED fan in the back.

You can get this fan this work just great it better with airflow and it comes to 140/120mm LED fans

 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835345038

Dimensions (mm) 140x140x25mm Current (A) 0.18A ±10% Speed (RPM) 1200 RPM ±10% Air Flow (CFM) 86.73 CFM ±10% Air Pressure (mmH2O) 1.38 mmH2O Noise (dB-A) 22.8 dB(A)

But honestly it your case look to perfects with the right amount of lighting but if you over do it can look ugly like some youtube videos that over do it end up making it looking bad

Be careful all I'm saying

If I was you I would just get Corsair AF140 quiet edition (not led edition)

Uh how the heck would it be too much? Make it as blue as you like.

There can most definitely be too much blue.

-snip-

Thats what I was thinking, but looking at noise ratings it's quite loud. (But as I said in my initial post, I don't know how much stock to put in that rating since they don't really seem to be all that accurate).

Saw that, but its more than the Cougar and it's supposedly louder.

Please no. As blue LED case fans Spectre Pros are terrible

Any particular reason why?

Really, you pretty much never can trust noise ratings, and the Quiet Edition fans aren't actually loud... If you want them even quieter you could undervolt it anyways, all of their fans come with an in-line resistor.

My personal taste is that colored LED destroys the rig. You have white LED (which is good) so I would take the non LED version with the blue ring (but it is more expensive)

Ignore db ratings, corsair fans are all pretty loud compared to actual good fans.

If you want a good blue fan, get the AP123.

You can over do it, especially with blue.

Cougar is great when it comes to fans, I've never used one of their LED fans, so I can't speak about them, but build quality is excellent, as is the noise level.

I have some cougar vortex 120mm pwm fans, but I don't find them all that quiet. At 1000~ rpm they're reasonable.

I think I'm leaning more towards the AF140s as I think they'd look the best...but, I hear so many mixed things about Corsair fans.

Got these Corsair SP120 Green LED 120mm ones as the dual kits were on discount for the price of one, and they are quieter than the original Antec case fans.
