Personally I think the iPhone 6 is a good phone, this time it is overpriced by 100 dollars I would say but it's finally a complete iPhone, something which apple never has had before. On the other hand the Iphone 6 plus is a big fail IMO, the reason why is that they didn't optimize iOS8 for a big screen at all hoenstly. Like seriously.. still the same 4*5 app tray... come on now. I know they want to perserve that trademark iphone look but at least give users the option to use an extra row. Things like this make apple apple.

I think they're a bad option. Not because they are "bad", but because they are overpriced. The new cpu is marginally faster than the old one when the competition is skyrocketing ahead. It's true that up to now apple's dual cores have been holding their ground against competing quad cores, but it's only been in low-threaded applications that don't make use of the extra cores properly. Again, 700+$ are way too many for a phone in this day and age.

Hardware is a bit bad for the price you are paying i must admit, however the IOS is great so overall good but a tad overpriced (coming from someone who likes apple and their products)

So you think IOS8 isn't optimized for the bigger screen purely based on the "fact" that there isn't an extra row of apps? Well there is an extra row of apps on the bigger screen, AND it supports landscape mode.

It's pretty hard to say right now, how well optimized it is. But from what we know , we can probably assume that it's optimized for the bigger screen. Atleast until some credible source gets hands on time with the hardware.

iphone 6 starts at 700€ and ends with 1000€ for the 6+ 128gb in germany. And that's just mad. I don't like the camera sticking out, i also feel there isn't anything special about the new Iphone. At least nothing that would justify the 200€ difference to a HTC One, or Galaxy S5

The day of the Apple livestream we had an away soccer game, and all anybody talked about on the way there was the 6 and 6+. We have 3 German foreign exchange students and 1 Italian one, all of them were ecstatic about the bigger screen, ability to adjust frame rate in videos, and Apple pay. Our Italian even called his mom to confirm that they would buy one for every member of the family.

Why does this matter? You may ask. Well, Apple has marketed the iPhones brilliantly, perfectly capturing the eye of a person who isn't tech savvy. For people who don't care about the customizability or the open source nature of androids, iPhones are "perfect".

Take my mother for example, she has an iPhone 5s, and I have an LG G2. She constantly says my phone is too big, yet she was super excited about the iPhone 6+! I think everyone on this forum is smart enough to think for themselves, but those who aren't tech savvy don't know what they want, they have to be told what they want.

As far as the iphone 6 goes, well... It's an iPhone... And it's slightly more better than the other, more different iPhones. Apple really just hasn't brought that one feature that sets it's phones apart from the rest, needless to say there is no more innovation left in the IOS camp.

I think all in all the iPhone 6/6+ will be a good phone with a lack of features.

Also you have to consider if you want to go with a closed system like iOS or if you want to be able to customize everything on your phone like with android.

the starting model is 16gb at 700$/E.no sd. you must be stupid to consider the phone at that huge price

I watched the event a day after the livestream. From what I can tell outright, its design is pleasant to look at. It's refreshing in the iPhone lineup yet didn't bring quite the amazement I was hoping it would have. I'm a loyal Apple fan due to their 'innovations'. But the iPhone 6? The innovation just wasn't there. I've seen photos floating around the internet on how it compares with Android and the Nexus 4 already has the technological capabilities the iPhone 6 has.

 

It wasn't truly groundbreaking unlike what they did with the first iPhone. The naming convention is horrid enough that makes me want to switch to Android. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+? 4.7" and 5.5"? At first Apple thought no one would ever need a bigger screen. "Apparently everyone likes what every smartphone manufacturer does with their screen sizes, so we'll hop in the bandwagon too!" is what I believe the exec said. 

 

Right now, the way they do their iPhone just doesn't amuse me. I mean, sure the Apple Watch is great, but with the iPhone? meh. Could have innovated a lot better haven't they? The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ are amazing smartphones, don't get me wrong. But due to the accompanying premium price tag and their lack of innovative ideas mixed in by its lackluster physique. I'm sorry Apple.. I'm gonna go buy the Nexus 5.

My 5s consistently lasts three days on medium usage, but by "lasts" I mean it's dead by the end of the third day.

That's what their numbers say, and they generally underestimate. My 5s gets around 8-9.

Personally I was let down. The specs of the iPhone 6 are similar to that of a nexus 4, which is a few years old already. I'd of been okay if it was at about $400 off contract but the price tag is quite hefty considering there are phones cheaper that are QHD and the iPhone 6 is only 750p.

 

It has a market, and however niche it is (or isn't) it'll sell.
