Puffy75

I have a problem with my WiFi enabled printer every time I scan a paper to make a copy of it the printer changes its ip address and then I have to reset the printer to be able to print something. Its is a Kodak ESP 5250.

First off, is the printer configured with a Static IP Address, or with DHCP?

Second, sounds like your printer might be defective. How long have you had the printer for, and how long has this issue been happening?

The printer has a dynamic ip address but it will not let me change that and I have had the printer for about 4-5 years and it has only recently started doing this.

And the printer is the only device that loses it's IP Address? I would try a factory reset on the printer, and then set it up again from the beginning. If possible, I would also go into your router settings and ensure the DHCP range starts assigning IP Addresses at a higher range (Might already be like this. Many routers start with address .100). Then I would change your printer to a Static IP Address with a low address (Like .10 or .50 - doesn't matter as long as it is below the DHCP assigning range). You should be able to do that under the "Network Settings" on the printer itself.

The relevant information should be on pages 13 and 14 (labelled as page 8 and 9). You'll then want to completely uninstall the printer from all devices, and reinstall the printer using that static IP Address. See if that solves your issue.

You may also need to reset your router, if your router is causing issues.

Yes the printer is the only device that loses it's IP Address. Also thank you so much for the help I will try out what you suggested.
