DDC Vs. D5

What are the benefits of buying one rather then the other?

As far as I an aware DDC pumps have a higher pumping pressure for vertical pumping, but run hotter and slightly louder; where as D5 pumps have a faster flow rate?

Is this information accurate? Also DDC pumps and tops tend to be cheaper than D5 (at least here in the UK)

D5 is better. The DDC is more for compact builds, and is louder too.

The D5 is more powerful and uses more power. It has about the same head pressure as the DDC, but 5x more flow.

DDC's have slightly better head pressure, but performance is hugely impacted by tops. They're also louder and hotter. Unless you don't have the space, get a D5

The DDC has this high pitched whine that annoyed me enough to replace it with a D5 after two years

When I redid my PC, I bought a MCP655-PWM D5 pump. I thought the PWM would be nice but all I use it for is to make sure that the pump is still working in my system and reading the RPM's. I leave the thing on 100% all the time because it doesn't make any noise that I can hear. I would never use anything other than a D5 pump now.

Must not have been that bad if you put up with it for 2 years :)

getting a D5 with a pump top will improve its performance and DDC only for compact builds D5 has a better reputation amongst large enthusiast builds
