The Asiimov

-iSynthesis

Hey guys, i had an idea inspired by the asiimov skin in counter strike : go. I planned to build a rig in white and black. All of that is not going to work out since i cannot find a white motherboard other than some am2 sapphire one, and asus have not released their white board.

The first part i was waiting for to arrive arrived just now: the NZXT H440 in white/black. I am working on the review right now.

The CPU is going to be my current Xeon E3-1230 V3

It will be getting cooled by a custom loop (EK-Kit L240) which is ordered and should arrive in the next few days.

The GPU is going to be my 580, for now without a water cooler, and later may be upgraded by a newer AMD/Nvidia Card

The Motherboard is going to be my current asrock, im looking into selling it and getting either a only black one or one of the gigabyte oc boards, the orange/black ones.

Ram is going to stay the same; i may spray paint it however since blue is a silly combination here.

PSU will stay the same, probably will buy extensions so it looks better.

SSD/HDD will stay the same.

The first part will be the dissassembly of my current rig, which i will film and write about if you want so.

I'll work on the review of the h440 and see if anyone commented whether or not i should film the dissassembly.

Thank you for reading, i hope you like the idea and will follow this build log

I approve of anything vaguely Asimov related.

I still haven't forgiven my local library about throwing out his Foundation books ;-;

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

I'm intrigued, gonna follow this thread for pics + updates.

off topic: I can't play CSGO any more unfortunately, got put on Overwatch twice, partially for verbal abuse etc in-game, and cheating accusations. Got a year ban the 2nd time around. Overwatch is pathetic.

I do have a few, may upload them later. The next step is clear tubing andorange fluid aswell as probably spray painting the ram.

Since we can't see your res and only the tubing wouldn't it be easier to just get orange tubing and running distilled water with a biocide? Then you don't have to deal with fading dye and residue. I think it would be sweet if you ran polished copper hard tubes but that would be a ton of work.

Thanks for the idea, i thought of that aswell but i dont really like colored tubes; I may go to a local hardware store or something like that and have a look at how they actually look. Im not sure what im gonna do with a reservoir yet, may mount one somewhere you can see it, theres not a lot of room though :-/

Yea your hardware store should sell some fairly flexible copper it's usually used for connecting your toilet/fridge/tap to the main lines in your house. If you decide to go the copper route don't forget to clear coat your tubes after you clean them. They make some pretty small tube res's also maybe get a 5.25"bay res?

H440 doesnt have 5.25 bays :-/. Or do you mean to just mount it in the bottom like i did with the current one?

Oh right I forgot, it was a long day for me lol well you only have 3 drives in your system right? How about moving the SSD to one of the hard drive cages and mount a tube res something like the multi-option ones from EK

ek-multioption-x2-res-advanced1_600.jpg

horizontally where the 2.5" cages are? The only downside is you'd lose the bottom pci slots(unless they're short cards) because the res is in the way.

----------UPDATE----------

Transparent 13/10mm EK Primochill Tubes arrived about 2 days ago, aswell as 1l Mayhems Pastel Gigabyte Orange, i just installed both and well, like 200ml leaked because i had too much of an angle and the tube went out of the pump... No damage caused but it was annoying as hell. I made a few pics:

Pics are taken with a Nikon D5100. The lighting in my room is quite bad so the photos are in a rather bad quality, im sorry for that and if anyone has tips of what lights i could buy for photographing/filming feel free to tell me. Also, im not a big photographer so i dont know a lot about DSLR Settings and whatever...

Edit: Before i do ANYTHING on this Build, im going to get a new power supply. You cannot imagine the cable trash just laying around down there...

Just a small update, i put a xfx r9 280x DD in there, overclocking like a dream +248MHz on the core and +350 on the memory. I had to put the stock Intel cooler again because my loop leaked, im going to have to get some 90° Fittings because the bend on the tube was too much.
