Watch the clearance on the memory heat-sinks vs the NH-D14, go to Noctua's website to see computability, I know the original vengeance had issues. Might want to change that to a 4790K to take advantage of Z97.

PSU will be more than enough, plus Seasonic is #1 (imo of course)

Go i7 4790k that way you can over clock down the road if you want. You'll regret not getting it.

Thanks for the reminder. http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_ram_gen&products_id=34&lng=en shows Vengeance Pro series in checkmark so I think it clears the height requirements. Not sure if the motherboard will have an effect though.

If I convert into a 4790K will the NH-D14 still going to hold overclocking and the 550 seasonic will still hold it?

Im not going to do crossfires or slis soon. You think kingston would be better than Corsair Vengeance™ Pro DDR3 1600 16GB 8GBx2kit CL9 w/Black Heat Spreader? any particular specific kingston module in mind?

yes, it will still hold overclocking well as the nh-d14 is a well known cooler for overclocks, if you can, get a 650W power supply.

Thanks! Will try that one if it still fits the budget.

Yes US $. Keep in mind im from the Philippines, so these build is a little bit pricier on our side of the planet.

The Seasonic G 550W will cope fine with a GTX 770 and i7 cpu, even if you want to overclock.

I would be tempted to go with the Sabertooth Mark 2 motherboard and get an R9 290 gpu.

How so? In the US the Sabertooth Mark 2 is about $60 less than the Mark 1 and one can get a decent R9 290 for about $60 more than the Asus DirectCU II GTX 770.

You're actually right about the Mark 2, but the R9 290 here is still way too expensive considering there's still a few shops selling 290s.

What if I'd just use Mark 2 instead of Mark 1 for my current setup. Now I'm thinking the 5 corsair fans won't be much effective if I use Mark 1 because of the shroud and Mark 1 already has airflow within those shrouds which may render some of the case fans inefficient?

Thanks!

Trust me i am running a 600w 80+ bronze with my 290 and it shorts out at certain times, you might as well invest in a good PSU from the start for future crossfire. Corsair vengeance ram is EXPENSIVE in SEA regions man (i am from singapore) and kingston is like half price of vengeance ram here. AKA you can save around 50 USD buying kingston ram (and put LED light strips on top of it if you dont like the aesthetics. The normal looking ram would be fine http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-kvr16n11k216

Too bad about the R9 290.

As far as I am concerned the Mark 1 "armor" is really just for looks. My experience with the X79 Sabertooth is that the channel fans are simply too small to make a real difference and contribute to noise levels.

I doubt you will need more than the stock fans. They can always be added later if it proves necessary. You might also consider using a motherboard fan header with something like the Panteks PWM fan hub. The device lets you control case fans through a single PWM fan header on the motherboard.

If its pricier on Singapore, then its much more here in PH. Most of the shops here gets supplies from your country LOL. You do make a point on getting PSU, so I'll take your advice on getting Kingston HyperX black instead or any cheap CL9 1600 that looks good on my build. The price cut down will go to funding a better PSU. Thanks man.

If that's true then I'd go for Mark 2. Mark 1's camo will also ruin the look I want for my system. I wanted it plain and clean.

I'm getting an NZXT fan controller, I'm not sure if Panteks fan hub is available here. What do you think?

Try to get a 2x4GB 2x8GB memory kit that if it is DDR3-1600 is CAS 9 or better.

The Nzxt fan controller is a decent choice.

I'd prefer to get 2x8gb if there is because I would need more RAM for my work load.

I'll be ordering the build tomorrow and I want to get your final thoughts on my build:

Cpu: Core i7-4790k
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2
Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600 CAS 9 16GB
Ssd: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD
Hdd: 2 TB Seagate Barracuda's
Gpu: Asus gtx770 2gb ddr5 direct cu11 oc
Psu: Seasonic X750 80+ GOLD Full Modular
Case: CM n400
Cooling: Noctua NH-D14
OS: WINDOWS 8.1 64BIT SL

Others:
- Corsair SP fans X5
- NZXT fan controller
- FTW Sleeves

I would like to go for air cooling only but I'm tempted to get the CM 690 III which has a free Seidon 120v already, maybe I could save up because I might have to reduce some fans. Let me know if it's a better option to get the CM 690 III or just stay with this build.

CPU: Core i7-4790k Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600 CAS 9 16GB SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD HDD: 2TB Seagate Barracuda

Go for a 280X over a GTX 770 if it is cheaper. They perform about the same.

The Seasonic X psu is pretty pricey ? If you can get an EVGA Supernova G2 750W for less, or a Seasonic G 750W, then go with that instead.
