Razer Blade 14 2015 wishlist

Ikaros18

So I was just wondering what do you guys want to see in next year's iteration of the Blade 14 ? These are the things I want:

1.The same 3200x1800 262 PPI IPS touch panel

2.Options for 8 or 16 GBs of RAM

3.An Nvidia GTX 975M/980M GPU (or something else)

4.An 80/85 watt hour battery

5.An Ethernet Port

5.A lower price tag (hopefully)

And finally, let's hope it'll still be 'thinner than a dime'.

I don't think thin and Ethernet can exist in the same place.

Definitely want more power in the next version, maybe a slight price cut too.

Hopefully that Blade will have Broadwell CPUs

The problem with an ethernet port is that it would make the laptop much thicker.

Then in that case just sacrifice the ethernet port aha

I doubt they'll ever make the blade 14 cheaper but if they do, it'll be awesome. I'm thinking of pricing the base model with 8GBs of RAM and hopefully a GTX 970M at around $1500~1700

Yeah you can get USB3-ethernet adapters too that would suffice.

Also I'd like the option for more USB ports, even if it was through a hub they include that has two plugs - one for USB data and another power plug (that plugs into a special power plug on the laptop) to (optionally) provide more power to the new USB ports.

I would like to see thunderbolt on it since it's a premium device competing with the macbook pro.

There aren't many displays that support a thunderbolt input though

It's a enthusiast grade laptop, why should there not be thunderbolt? I personally think that it's a cool addition and the only laptops that have thunderbolt is Macbooks.

Personally I hope USB type c comes out soon so that Razer can put it in their laptop along with the new GTX 900m series of cards and they should release a touchscreen and non-touchscreen option to save money. I'm also hoping for a cheaper price... R.I.P wallet

Honestly, what really steered me away from using that notebook as an all-purpose machine was that 3k screen. Not only does it make windows scale horribly, but it also sucks up alotta juice. The previous model had the best battery life of any gaming notebook and still holds that position.

I expect...

1. A minimum of 16GB of RAM

2. Nvidia GTX 970M

3. Min-Liang Tan to stop lying about the international release of the Blades

4. Linus to stop being a bootlicker and do a complete review as the 1st Blade 14 review was (with temperatures and so on)

5. A gaming dock as MSI GS30

Don't hope too much :D , upgradeable means increased thickness.

Nvidia GTX 980M GPU

16gb ram

15 inch screen (14 just a bit too small for gaming and 15 is still quite portable imo)

Matte screen. I'm indifferent about the touch screen as it adds a premium

maybe a different finish that doesn't show fingerprints so well.

improve the battery life if possible.

Maxwell graphics and 9h battery. Ditch the touchscreen and sell it for less than the 2014 Razer Blade. That thing is too expensive.

Maybe do a budget version with lower end graphics (GTX 960M when its out) and a fast dual core (Intel® Core™ i7-4578U) for 1500$

I'd buy that instantly.

Thunderbolt instead of HDMI.  Can be adapted to just about anything.  Have RAM not be soldered to the motherboard.  Ditch touchscreen and use saved money to add 2 more M.2 slots.  I would say go with a 1440P display instead of a 3K.  It would make scaling better, have the ability to play 60 FPS Medium/Low settings, and save money.  Having 4 Samsung XP941 512GB in RAID 0 would be absolutely insane.  You would have to do that much storage aftermarket of course since that would make the laptop 4000 USD.
