Push or Pull

I'm upgrading my case to a Fractal Design Define R4 that's coming on Thursday. I also will be installing a Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme in the top. However, I began to wonder what's better, having the fans in push or pull. I'm hesitant to put it in pull as I will have to look at the back of the fan every time I glance at my case. Does it really matter?

Pull is easier to clean.

I use to be able to input a cheat code now I've got to input a credit card - Total Biscuit

As @Deletive said, pull will be much easier to clean as you won't have to remove the fans to clean the dust between the fans and rad. That's not to say you should never remove the fans in pull to clean them, but it's much less frequent.

I use pull despite the focus flow technology in NFF12 fans. The difference is negligible and the ease of cleaning having them in pull outweighs a little more airflow.

Depends how dusty your house is.

Pull sucks in air from outside of your case directly into the rad so it can get tricky to clean..

You can have pull and still exhaust, you know? Pull means pulling air through the rad, not pulling air from outside the case through the rad.

I was assuming he was intaking from the rad.

 

The rad is going to be an exhaust.

I use a pull configuration on my H110. Easy to clean and still very cool.

 

For most fans the difference between a push and pull configuration will be negligible.
