Left loop empty for 4 months. Cleaning Methods?

So as the title stated, i left the loop empty since i left the country. Now im returning to it, am preparing for a major clean. However due to the complexity of my loop, I was wondering if i can just fill the loop with a vinegar solution and let it run for a while? If i do, what kind of vinegar solution should it be.

List of parts in the loop.

D5 pump, alphacool/bitspower fittings, primochill rigid tubing, Razor gtx titan wb, raystorm wb, ek maximus 5 extreme full board wb. alphacool ut60 rads.

Fill it with distilled vinegar and run it for a bit, then be sure to give it a good rinse.

You can to stretch the vinegar and clean the loop still.

Was it just me or did anyone else think this had something to do with programming?

4 months later.... haha.

Distilled vinegar should do, let it clean the loop for a good while, then flush it and refill it :)

no need to rinse and air dry?

I'd dilute it, vinegar is pretty powerful stuff! 50:50 it and run it through a few times.

so first time 50/50 do a couple more runs and let it slowly get diluted till distiled water. do i need to air dry between processes? or at the end before filling coolant

I'd let it rest overnight with all drains at the bottom to get any vinegar out then flush with distilled the next day then install.

Install as dry as you can get it, last thing you want is drops of water coming out when installing.

I would advise you break down the loop, check to see if the GPU blocks has any build up and if they do then dismantle and soak with lemon juice for three to five minutes for light build up and ten to fifteen minutes for heavy build up and then brush with a toothbrush, then put them back together and flush with warm distilled water for fifteen minutes then do the vinegar solution for fifteen minutes, then clean with more warm distilled water for fifteen minutes and then re-install the parts then refill with distilled water and flush out the air bubbles as normal and continue to use your PC.

thank you for writing that piece, its very descriptive,

However if i ran a leak test with vinegar/distilled water solution for a long period of time, wouldnt it be the same?

No. The warm distilled water is meant to soften any deposits that accumulate in the whole loop, from the blocks to the pump to the reservoir to the radiator/s, then when the deposits has been loosen/soften the vinegar and distilled is used to wash the loop again and then the next wash of just warm distilled water is meant to further sterilize the loop.

While this is being done you will want to check for leaks with paper towels that you have placed at points where leaks can happen.

The way i presented will break up any clogs on the cold plate jet-streams that may be blocked from deposits(color coolants, corrosion....etc.)as it has been sitting there for so long and also if you were using any colored coolant the deposits from that will be dissolved and removed..
