Humamt007

hey guys, so i went to all of the PC stores that are available in my town, and these are all of the parts that i managed to find. i can't order online for some private reasons. So please give me your opinion.

I'm going to use this PC for (80% Gaming, 20% Editing) also i still didn't decide between the r9 290 and the r9 290x. And my budget increased to about 2000$. So yeah, please check the build out and if there was any other suggestions please help!

Here's the link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NPGvD3

And here's some information about the store that's in my town

The store only deals with certain companies so here they are

for the:

mobo: Gigabyte

Gpu: for AMD only Sapphire

RAM: Kingston

Monitors: Samsung

Power Supply: Cooler Master

Case: Cooler Master

Cpu: he has both AMD + Intel, but i prefer Intel

Storage: for the Hard Drive, Western Digital. For the SSD, Hyper X

The webpage for the store: http://rameg.com/en/

I hope this helps :)

i can't order online for some private reasons. So please give me your opinion.

And yes i think i might over clock in the future.

1. If you are getting a z97 motherboard then get a K processor.

2. Don't get a coolermaster PSU, you can get something of much higher quality for much less, I'd suggest sticking with Corsair, EVGA, Silverstone, and Seasonic for power supplies.

3. Swap the SSD for a 250GB samsung 840 evo if you can.

If you aren't getting a "k" series CPU then go with one of the cheaper motherboards on the non overclocking chipsets. Otherwise, get a 4790k and overclock it as far as your 212 allows. Also, get a western digital black drive instead of red because you aren't going to be running it in a NAS. I don't think the extra money for the x is worth it so I'd get a normal 290. Get an arc midi r2 or define r4 for the case and save some money, also, you don't need that full tower. I'd try and get some memory that has a heat spreader on it as well although that isn't too big of a deal.

if your not oc then i suggest get a h97 mobo instead, can't say anything else since i don't know what parts your pc store sell because i don't know which one to recommend if there was other stuff or other things that needed to be changed but same as @AlwaysFSX, a lot of these parts are mismanaged

Dear god that's an odd mishmash of parts.

I wouldn't even think about getting the Seagate SSD.

As has already been said, if you want that processor go with something like an H97 motherboard.

Do you really need an optical drive? They're pretty pointless these days.

Personally I'd go with the 290, once you OC it it'll be almost as good as a 290x OC'd. They're very similar cards.

The Coolermaster units are actually pretty solid quality. Not everything from Corsair or EVGA are great, for example.

Red is fine if it's just for storage. Black is overpriced for a simple media storage drive, if that's what he's using it for.

That's a V series PSU, it's better than the Corsair offerings, unless you get their 80+ Platinum stuff.

Wrong country..

Right so all he has to do is take a note of the items and see if he can source it in his local store and purchase them or similar components. It is a better organized build.  I did this one for another guy this morning.

Alright, I had just heard that cooler master power supplies are pretty bad from somewhere, guess I'll think differently of em now.

It sort of does but the budget you quoted is $2000...is that US dollars or what ever is your currency? I am thinking USdollars because if it were what ever is that currency i am seeing you can only get a MOBO and a cable for $2000 your currency.

4 post on the same topic? Stick to one thread please...

We already told you the basics, to overclock you need a K series processor, those being the i5 4670K, i5 4690K, i7 4770K and i7 4970K on the 1150 socket.

Z87 will allow you to do any overclock on those CPUs, but the Devil Cannon ones (with a "9" on the model name) need a updated bios to work on Z87, but will work out of the box with Z97 motherboards.

There is no point in matching K processors with non Zx7 boards, or matching Zx7 Boards with a non-K series CPU.

We know prices vary a lot, and there are taxes and import fees on products, so I suggest you pick your parts from that store (you can make a model build on PCPartPicker, so we can see it more easily). Then comment on one of your existing posts (don't make a new thread!) the parts you picked, and we can help you out determining if they make sense or not.

As for the GPU, the R9 290X on the website you linked is a reference model (blower style cooler), those are not recommended at all, they are extremely noisy and fail to cool the GPU correctly, if you can't find another R9 290X, get a GTX 780.

I will ask you again, what are you exactly going to use this PC for?
