AMD announced a series of retailer-specific promotions for its flagship Radeon R9 295X2 dual-GPU graphics card. The card, which launched at US $1,499, will be available for as low as $999, as part of retailer promotions. End users (you), and not just OEMs, will be able to buy the card at the three-figure price. The card will ship with its usual Radeon Rewards package, giving you access to over a dozen free games. Based on a pair of 28 nm "Hawaii" GPUs, the Radeon R9 295X2 features a total of 5,760 Graphics CoreNext 1.1 stream processors, 352 TMUs, and 128 ROPs, split between its two GPUs, and 8 GB of memory across its two 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interfaces.

What happens when next-gen comes out? Will the price of this beast go down or will it stay at $1500?

If I had the money for these sort of cards I'd be going Green Team because I'd want the best PhysX rig money could buy and if I paid much more for it so be it.  Nvidia .... play games the way they were meant to be played.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Holy shit this is quite the GPU. When you say retailer promotions does that mean it's for a limited time?

$1500? Didn't you just say it was going for $1000?

Selling my parts of my 900D rig for a jacked up Ncase M1. PM me for offers if interested (will take some reasonable-low offers because I'm desperate).

Can you name 6 games that make extensive use of PhysX?

999 dollars makes this the same price as the single-core Titan Black. That's pretty damn impressive power per dollar.

It's a retail promotion. I guarantee you AMD will take a loss on every card sold for that little. ATI's engineers are good, but not that good.

It may be a retail promotion, but it is a retail promotion that is making me wish I had 1000 bucks lying around right now :/

Eh, I'd rather pay $800 for the PCB+ports and pay for an EK water block.

First of all ATi is gone, has been gone for 8 years now.

Second of all why would anyone care how much money AMD makes selling their cards unless your invested in their stocks which you're obviously not.

Thirdly at $999 AMD would still be making very good profit on each 295X2 sold because the CLC would only cost about $80 with the fans so that's $920 for two 290Xs or an equivalent of $460 which is just $40 under the current price of the 290X and still over $100 more than a 290 which is based on the same GPU.

And I can guarantee you AMD is making money on each 290 they're selling, hence they're making even more money on each 290X & 295X2 they're selling.

They're definitely not as insane or greedy as Nvidia to ask a thousand bucks for a single GPU and a stupid 2 grand for a dual GPU card.

I don't have a water loop to integrate it in to, so that'd add another 300+ bucks to the price. Probably more, because if I'm going to waste the time on a water loop then I'm going to do it properly and make it look really nice.

But would you rather get 2 r9 295X2 cards AND an i7 5960x for the price of a Titan Z?  Or just a Titan Z?
