Lian li PC-V1000L: If you need a pc case and you cant afford a tank

brownninja97

* edit: lian li use png pictures so i had to edit them out sadly, they will regret that, also why dont png files work here.

Lian_Li_PC-V1000L_01.jpg

Lian li have a reputation, you may notice they arent on this forum a lot, ive seen new cases come out but we havent overviewed them, they thought we were not worthy, but after nearly two years I think we are ready, but there is a chance we will not make it and the lian li mafia may shut us down. Either way its time to look at this case, even if its the death of us, well me, you guys should be fine.

Anyways did you like the old mac pro case, i did but i wanted it to be black, or white, lian li answered our prayer but at the cost of a boy losing an arm and another boy getting bonded to a suit of armour. So there isnt anything hiding it, this case is similar to the old mac pro case which is a good thing, and  a bad thing for some people, apple will not do a law suite because well, they want to live.

Onto the front of the case, four usb 3.0 headers, two is for babies and people called Linus(sorry mr forsell) and both use 19 pin headers because they are manly ports. There are also headphone and mic ports providing testostrone filled audio for your ears and mouths, can you handle that. Also above the picture is a power button so that you can.........turn on the pc. No reset button here, we arent casuals.

*side note, the lian li photographer sucks.

Above the ports is the single 5.25inch drive bay which has a metal sheet on top of it because plastic is for naughty children that have to sit in the corner.

On the top of the case there is more metal to smash your foes with and a metal dust filter because they can.*put on metal sunglasses* *random explosion*

Onto the bottem of the case, where we find a peasant plastic filter to please the hippies, what the metal bill was high you mad bro/female bro. What do you mean case feet, we use wheels because wheels are manly, you can now sit on your pc all man like and push yourself.........around like you did when you were a littleman, childhold is important for a man.

Also we like to make customers feel speical so this thing is tagged on to every case, now if you are ever called a filthy casual then you can see, nah man, my case is speical, this causes instant mana burn to your enemies for 10 seconds and depletes their armor *fact.

Its getting hot in here, NO IT ISNT, you got three 120mm fans in this the front of this case, it doesnt matter what you have to cool, two gpus, two cpus, two dead bodies, it isnt a problem. Assume oem cfm average 33.2cfm @1000rpm.

Lian_Li_PC-V1000L_02.jpg

The case is suddenly black, deal with it, also there is another 120mm fan in the back for getting rid of unwanted beings. You can also put two more fans at the top and bottom of the case.

It also has support for 9 3.5inch hdd or 11 2.5 drives. No fancy technologies here, just bare cold steel.

You may notice the motherboard tray looks a bit simple, thats because there is a lot of metal here, they dont need to bend the metal to make it more secure.

Dont worry about psu length it can fit just about anything.

It supports EATX

It fits all coolers and all gpus, including the radeon 5450 *fact.

You can fit a 3.5 inch drive behind the bottom tray, which means your cables should be fine, i think, they might have too much space.

Damn, and just after I bought my raven 5. Maybe I could talk my dad into letting me build him a hackintosh in this case, before his 07 iMac has all the ports fail on it and it stops working altogether.

Uglier. Those blue USB 3.0 ports ruin it. And that disk drive button. AND FUCKING WHEELS?

@Builder already showed how dissapointing this case is. Lian Li has even used that perforated desing for a long while now. This is a step back. As for the internals, nice to see support for AIO water cooler in the top. But it does not look like is supports any front radiator, without removing all drivecages. Speaking of those, Lian Li has made this amazing hot swappable PCB, so you can install all power and data cables, without any drives installed (1 sata power cable is even shared with multible drives, for less cables). That way you only need to remove the left side and pop in the drive, even hot swappable:

bp3sata-04.jpg

My v700 case has this. They seem to have abandoned this now. Such a shame. A premium feature for a premium case.

edit your post, if you quote the op then dont copy the whole thing, it  makes scrolling a pain especially if you are on mobile.

Also no you cant patent a similar design.

Don't half ass it.

You have to half ass it. Then you ALMOST have a defense when it comes to court.

If Mac Pro cases were a bit more build friendly, I'd be in heaven. One of my favourite case designs, though the 900Ds monolithic slabness also works for me.

God I wish a case and components existed that were THAT small.

We kid, but the thing is frankly a midget of a computer. Its the kind of thing I would try to build if I had $$$$$$ at my disposal and could, just for the sake of it

I know. It's not even possible to build a PC of the same size xD.

But of course the hate machine has to find a reason to hate it, even when you can upgrade everything INTERNALLY except the GPU (which can be externally upgraded) and the thing can fit in your backpack.

Making a pc of this size is possible.

What's so special about the HD 5450?!

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I had a Lian Li. It shat all over Fractal in terms of build quality. However, LL kinda sucks with their internals. Not for the lack of paint, but lack of innovation/functionality. This has been Lian Li's down side. Pure form over function.

Lian Li has been about function more than form forever. They were and still are the go-to cases for air and liquid-based overclockers who know how to mount rads externally like real men and know the laws of physics which prove aluminum to be the better thermal dissipater over plastic or steel. I wish the MOBO-side panel had at least 1/2 inch of room for back-side cable management. If they give me that I will stop considering the Enthoo Luxe (aluminumcasemasterrace).

looks great, but thos wheels have to go. This i think is a nice alternative to modding a mac case for a similar look.

Lian Li PC-V354 says other wise. Zero cable management, PSU either dumps hot air onto your graphics card or into a solid panel. Not all their cases are amazing. They are beautiful on the outside, but the insides of some leave much to be desired.

This isn't an obvious ripoff of the older mac pro case. [/sarcasm]

Sadly, this Lian Li case doesn't look well engineered in terms of front hdd cage layout, and some esthetic choices which ruin the overall look (wheels and ODD eject button).

Although: if the wheels are replaceable with feet, I might actually begin to like this case more. After seeing this case I might actually build a Hackintosh into it.

I personally can live with the ODD eject button and the blue USB 3.0 ports on the front, but the internal front drive cage layout might be a dealbreaker for people who would normally mount a front radiator.
