Define R4 vs Carbide 300r

BaconPie

Hey guys, can you tell me your experiences/opinions on this two case?Originally I planned on building in the 300r, but now I cant really decide between these two...I know that the R4 doesnt really have great airflow, but how bad is it?

I have R4, 2 fans front as intake and 1 back as exhaust. I am using air cooler. I took both HDD cages out. Mounted my SSD behind MoBo and HDD into 5.25" bay with adapter. I would say that airflow is really good after I took those cages out and it is really silent. Watercooling in R4 may be an issue though. So if you plan on watercooling you will most likely have to mod case in order to do it.

Cant comment on 300r as I never worked with it.

Ok, let me clearify this.I know I didnt underline the "these two" part, so now I do it.

Edit: Also, I don't want windowed version of anything.

What type of cooler and fans are you using, and what are the temps?

I say R4.

The Arc MIdi is a nice compramise between the 2.

Stock fans in the front intaking and stock in the back as exhaust.  Hyper 212 evo on an AMD 4100 temps are fine.  Don't recall what I got on that machine.  Its currently out of commission.

The Define R4 is in a totally different league compared to the 300r. I love both cases, but the R4 is indisputably the superior case.

I've got an x41 mounted at rear exhaust of the r4. Three 140s in front and bottom for intake. It's quiet until you bump the case fans to 12v.

Well, Im really lured into the Fractal side of things, and as spwath pointed out, the Arc midi R2 is a great compromise between the R4 and the 300r. I really tempt to go wtih that, because it comes with 3 decent quality 140mm fans, looks sweet, has great internals and airflow.

I have upgraded from the R3 to the R4 via a one day interlude with the Phantom 410 (yeah, what was I thinking?) and I cannot knock it.  Am I biased? Yes. The Fractal is an amazing case, solid build with great cable management.  I feel a little bit dirty after my brief interlude with the 410.  Don't get me wrong, I think the case is a work of art but the build quality is just not there in comparison to the R4.  Got mine water cooled with an X41 and X31.

R4 is good for me! when the room is ~22-24°C and the cpu idle's at 8°C i think the airflow is good! altho i got a all in one watercooling and a slow ass fx8350 =P

It was easy to install my 140mm water cooler in the back.

If you really only want one of these two, I'd go with Define R4 for sure, however NZXT has great cases for example the h440 ^^
