PC not starting

4b33r

Hello,

Greetings,

Today My pc shut down without a warning and now whenever i try to switch it on the power button led switches on for about 0.2 seconds then nothing happens.the fans are off but i am getting power on my usb wifi card, the card's led is on,when i unplug my pc and drain the power using the power button the card's led switched off, which is a good sign because that means that wifi card doesn't have an inbuilt battery.

I changed the power cable, cleared the CMOS,checked the front panel connectors but nothing happened.and the cpu IS NOT THERMAL TRIPPING because max temp was 76°c after 3 hours under 100% load on all cores

Please help.

Thank you.

Sounds like a broken PSU or broken motherboard to me. If it doesn't even boot to the Bios and fans do not spin then you either have one of those 2.

You run the risk of killing yourself trying to repair a psu and killing your components. Just buy a new one, it's a better solution.

try removing and changing around the ram-sticks. try out another psu and if nothing helps (and i don't believe in wizardry but it worked more than 2 times) just unplug the psu, take out the cmos battery and let it sit for a day. ( ik its blackmagic but try it)

                                                                                      wow... pretty empty here...

I already changed the ram sticks, but that is foolish because even the PC fans are not working,so it couldn't be the ram.

Seriously, if you don't know anything about it you don't even need to mess with it. It wont be a simple quick fix, nor an easy one. You're better off buying a new one when you can. You aren't going to just fix it in 5 minutes with no parts needed. You need to know enough to see what actually went wrong, replace the part and know what your doing. The capacitors pack enough voltage even when off to kill you. Do not mess with it.
