I dont have a gpu right now, its a brand new computer! thats the problem!  going from console gaming to computer gaming now! 

 

Will amd gpu price drop after the nvidia announcement? or it will just stay the same?

We don't really know if the pricing will drop but what we do know is that even if it does it will take a while & start with the 290X first.

Right now there is absolutely nothing that rivals the 290 for performance/$. Nvidia's best bet is to simply match that performance/$ but we don't know if that will happen. Nvidia may very well charge a premium as is usually the case rather than come at an aggressive price point.

I am building a pc right now and I just wanna ask, should I buy the 280 TRI-X from sapphhire right now or wait until nvidia announces their new GPU lineup?

 

Will GPU prices drop after the announcement?

 

I prefer to get the gpu now since i am still on holiday now and i am an impatient person! but if its worth to wait for the new GPUs then I may have to do that!

buy the 290. there is are too many unknowns about maxwell on a bigger scale (bigger than 750), or when they will actually be available.

If your fine with your current gpu i would wait and most likely the prices will drop.

EDIT: If you are going to get a 290 please don't make it reference or xfx...

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

um nvidia is announcing their next line up in like 2 weeks. At least wait for that?

R9 290 Tri-x or gigabyte windforce are good choices - I'd choose the Tri-x :)

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC
