Headphones for Astro a40 micamp

Vader

My Astro a40 headset broke, and I need a new one. I'm not sure what set of headphones to get, or if I should just get another a40 headset. I need a mic as well if it's not apart of the headset, any advice would be nice and under 200< would be better.

I suggest you read the audio FAQ.

Headphones + mic are the best way to go.

I'm aware of that, I was just wondering what the best mic / headphone combo would be under $200 USD

I'm waiting for my 4.0 and HD700's to come in the mail. My friend are sick of hearing themselves when I use my speakers with my desktop mic lol.

Do you think you'll like the 700s? I've seen really mixed reviews about them.

I was going to try them at echo hifi near my house, but I only had time to try a few so it didn't make the list.

Dunno. People say they are the most warm sounding of the HD series so we'll see. If I don't like them they'll go right on ebay lol.

Voice activation: Stick with headset or a headphone with "proper" conversion kit, like Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro. Modmic is in weird place in between headset and desktop for voice activation.

Push-to-talk: Desktop mic.
