Posted September 2, 2014 I was wondering if the MSI Z87-G41 PC MATE mobo is compatible with an i7-4790k cpu. It hasn't been compatible in the past but a little research says that it is. Just wanted to make sure before I made any purchases. Posted September 2, 2014 PCPartPicker suggests that it might require a bios update. Why don't you get the ASRock Z97 Pro4 instead. It will be compatible out of the box. Posted September 2, 2014 Go to MSI website for that board, look under compatibility and it will tell you which BIOS supports it, different revisions will come with different BIOS' so check with the reseller.
