Best External 1TB hard drive

Yahhms

Hello all, I am looking to get an external 1TB HDD, and I was wondering what brand would be best. I'll be using it to store games and Adobe files, so the faster the better.

Thanks ~Yahhms

I've always been a huge fan of the Lacie drives.
Western Digital is also pretty solid, they just don't have the same level of design.

Seagate back up plus I have had customers that have bought some WD external drive and the are encrypted.  So I would stay away from "My Passport" but good drives though.

Hey there, @Yahhms!

To add some details on what the community recommended, I'd suggest to take a look at WD My Passport external drives.

Since you are looking for fast transfer speeds, I believe this external is what you need. When connected to a USB 3.0 port it gives you 3 times faster speed than USB 2.0. It depends on your system configuration, of course, but it is compatible with both. The capacity choice here is 500 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB.

You can check out the features and specifications yourself:

Hope this helps you!

I agree i have an old USB 2.0 one and it's the oldest drive i have and it's still going strong had it since 2008 i think.
