First PC Build

MongyGorp

That's a very unbalanced build.

I'd upgrade to a better motherboard. The B85 is the lowest form of Business chipset. That said if you don't plan on upgrading anything in the future (like more RAM, 2 graphics cards, etc) then it should be fine.

Why are you spending that much on a CPU cooler when you won't be overclocking? It's a waste.

I'd probably go with a Samsung 250gb SSD. Intel charges a lot for SSD's.

Can't you squeeze a 780Ti in there? Overall good build though, although I would swap the Intel SSD for a Samsung 840 EVO SSD.

Kind of a waste @1080p 60hz. There are other things that are worth upgrading before that.

Considering this guy's in Australia, $95 looks like a fine price to me.

It's decent.

Do you need an optical drive? I'd axe that and spend the $20 towards the 240gb 530. It's only $140.

I would swap that PSU for a much cheaper and better EVGA

And please tell me you don't own that monitor yet

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

You don't need that much of a CPU cooler, even if you were going to overclock, which you can't with a 4690, but if you were to get a 4690k, it would be better just to roll with liquid cooling at that point instead of paying upwards of a $100 for air cooling.  Also, you really don't need a 780, and if your purpose if for BF4 it's much better to go with an AMD card because of mantle support.  Save yourself $200 or so by going with an R9 280x.

This is what I would do:

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/PKywmG

I would bump it up to a 780TI if you can find a deal on some of the other parts.

EVO is better than PRO on Windows because of Turbo Boost. Enjoy.

Yes I own an Alienware, yes I overpaid for it, yes it runs Battlefield 4 on Ultra at 80-85FPS, yes I like it, yes I can game at Starbucks, are we done?

Thank you for writing a correct post. Corsair doesn't "make" PSUs. They sell SeaSonic under a different name. IMO Corsair has better support though.

850 Pro does. 840 Pro does not. I was just telling him to get the EVO because it's much cheaper for same-ish speeds.

Hey, @MongyGorp!

I've noticed you want to use your build mainly for gaming.

My suggestion would be to upgrade the storage HDD with WD Black, instead of the WD Caviar Blue drive.

WD Black drives are specifically designed for demanding applications so that you get the maximum of your gaming experience.

I think they will provide your rig with much better performance, so I'd recommend to check them out: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=760

Hope you find this helpful!

I hope I can help with any storage issues that you may have!  ;)
