Help planning a new build.

JackT24
Go to solution Solved by vern021,

Thanks for the suggestions, I've been looking through them and I've been thinking... some things such as the SSD's or the big hard drive spaces could be added to at a later date to bring the price of the initial build down. I am looking at buying the more costly products first, then adding to it as i get paid. So things like the monitors and SSD don't really have to be present.

I know... It's overpriced

1. Budget & Location

This will be my first build from scratch. I am looking to spend around £1000 ($1600) with an extra £200 ($320) if needs be. All peripherals included in that price. I am located in the UK.

2. Aim

I am starting university and the system will primarily be used for Editing and Creating CGI. I currently edit small projects on mac, but it just doesn't cut it, I need lots of processing power and RAM to have intensive programmes running simultaneously. Even though I will be doing work on this system, I would like for it to have enough power to run games like Crysis 2 to play in my spare time.

3. Monitors

I am planning on running 2 monitors, which will need to be at a high resolution and have crisp colours to ease the colour correction process. I may want another monitor adding to the set up, but not in the immediate future.

4. Peripherals

I will need to purchase a keyboard, mouse and as well as the monitors. The keyboard and mouse need to be comfortable to use over long periods of time (i was thinking more gaming keyboard and mouse). I will be running Windows operating system.

5. Why are you upgrading?
I am upgrading from mac because it just doesn't have the power i need to for fill work and university needs.

If anyone can help, please link me to part picker.

Many Thanks!

give me 10 minutes...

Do you need a real color accurate display? Like a calibrated IPS panel?

This build has 2 high quality prosumer displays so you can actually do entry level color work.
