Is the Moto X Still worth it? If Not, What is?

YellowMenace

I'm gonna be getting a new phone soon and what I'm trying to figure out is if the Moto X is still worth it? ($350-$400 area)

If the Moto X is no longer worth it, what is? I'm not looking at some expensive flagship phone. Just something reliable and comfortable.

I'm mainly looking for ease of use, responsiveness, nice camera, and some power to play the occasional game.

I was kinda looking at the Samsung phones but the UI and eh build quality is off putting.

ALSO: The phone'd be coming from AT&T, so that's the range of phones I can choose from.

CPU: AMD FX 8320e | Mobo: Gigabyte GA‑78LMT‑USB3 | Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper n520 | RAM: 8Gb @ 1333MHz

Moto X isn't wort it.

I would look at the HTC One M8.

The LG g3 would be a second choice, but not as recommended b/c of its lag to get software updates.

Are you still on contract, or are you elligible for the discount?

If discount, the HTC One M8 is a sublime piece of hardware. From what I have seen, the G3 has overheating and responsiveness issues and the Samsung phones are just meh.

If on contract, see if you can get an invite to get the OnePlus One. It isn't as well built as the M8, but is still well built and has far better cameras.

Erm, G3 does not really have the overheating issues, don't get why people keep saying this, I have it, and so far it is not doing that, I mean I live in a country that is 91 Fahrenheit all the time yet when I game or use the camera, I haven't experinced overheating

Yep, the Moto X would be quite a bit less a month than getting a M8.

The only phones in the price range of the Moto X are things like the Samsung Rugby, S Minis, and, for some reason, the Mega.

Well, with the projected price of the Moto G2 being the same as the current Moto X, I dunno.

if that happens that's bullshit, unless the G2 is better that the current moto x, and even then whats the point of calling it G that's another price bracket, that the original

What is worth it then? Everyone's saying to get phones that are way out of budget or have things that are let downs, like weird UIs, heat issues, really hard  and expensive to work on if something happens, bloatware, or is just plain huge.

Well what are you honestly looking to get in a phone? Is your price range on or off contract?

The G3 doesn't have overheating issues. You can tweak the UI of most phones.

No phone is perfect, they all have things that aren't up to par. Otherwise everyone would just buy that model.

The Moto X is still a fine phone, and should serve you just fine.

They're releasing the next version tomorrow. So it's old. No way around that.
