Graphics for a 1020$ PC

xeored

R9 290 would probably be the best. If you make games in cryengien mantle will be supported too.

Is their really another logical option for PC gamers not on a shoe string budget ... R9 290 of coarse .

For the cost of the asus 780 you have in your parts list, you could get a sapphire vapor x 290, which would top the 780 in most games, especially at higher resolutions. Or you could find a lot cheaper 290 like a powercolor PCS+ which Ive seen for 389. It doesn't have the OC potential of the vapor x though. Ive seen moderately OC'd vapor x 290s blow away factory OC'd 780 TIs in benchmarks, especially in games like BF4 that utilize mantle.

Or you could wait to see if the gtx 980/970 comes out and see where it sits price and performance wise. Its supposedly just a couple weeks away.

i would say an r9 290 for its much cheaper then its competitor the gtx 780 and for rendering you should go for the fx 8350 for its faster for rendering and it is cheaperand you could spend the money somewhere else like on a larger ssd/hdd for more space for your videos and games

I said logical choice. 290 has most of the performance of a 780ti and costs hundreds less. Same with 290x. Titan LOL that's the most illogical, overpriced GPU for gamers ever made LOL.
