Questions

Should I use the stock cooler or a Coolermaster Hyper 212X

Seeing he's a 12 year old I don't think he's overclocking

Which R9 series GPU can run in tendom with the APU i've chosen

I need to build the pc under SGD$ 750.00 so non-high end GPU please

You can't run an R9 series GPU in Crossfire with the APU (I believe) I think it is something like an R7 260 possibly (not a very good card)

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

don't get an APU if you're getting a good GPU, as crossfiring could actually give worse performance.

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

CM STORM QUICKFIRE TK | BENQ XL2420TE | ROCCAT SAVU | FRACTAL DEFINE R4

Hi @Daniel91

Please remember to follow your posts ;)

If you want a dedicated r9 gaming gpu, you shouldn't buy an apu: athlons are chaper and perform the same, they just don't have the integrated gpu. A 740k should do the job. It's worth it to get an aftermarket cooler even if you won't overclock just because it would be quieter and keep the temperatures lower, plus in case he ever wants to overclock he can do it without needing to pull out the stock cooler.

As for the gpu itself I recommend an r9 270, very good bang for the buck :) or a 280 if you can squeeze it in. The 270x is an overclocked 270 so it doesn't make a lot of sense (oc your gpu though, it's always worth it). Also, spare on the ram (get 1600mhz kits, you don't really need any more for your config) and slap in an ssd, it's 1000% worth it.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

thanks on the advice on the cooler. I'll do that, as for the GPU i don't intend to get a good card because of the budget and it was upon request that I use a lower end gpu that i can run a low end GPU  with the APU. if a R6 is ipossible can you please suggest a R7 or something? or should i leave it without a dedicated GPU

Dual graphics doesn't work very well unfortunately, you might even loose performance. You should either go for integrated graphics alone and spare some money (if you are content with meh performance) or get the athlon and something like an r7 250x. Watch this video so you get an idea of what you're gaining or loosing by getting a higher end gpu and to decide if the 250x is enough for you:
