How to backup a SSD

Hi I would like to backup my SSD (C drive) but in backup option, I need to back up my D driver with it. My D drive is a 4tb WD and I only have a 1tb external hdd. I run Windows 8.1. please can any one show me how to do? btw my SSD is a PNY 240GB space used is about 80GB

Really, and both of you have answered his question so well, I see.

 

For the OP, what b/up software are you using? And why can't, if the other two wastrels are correct, you back up to D:? If it is just a choice, what is the external drive? Did it not come with b/up software? Both Seagate and WD offer free tools that automatically set the external drive as the b/up target.

Have you gone through these steps to get to the backup wizard?

Does this wizard have an option to only back up the C drive or an option to only backup the OS?

You could use EaseUS to make a disk image of the C drive, which would function as a backup if your OS failed.

You could also check out Redo Backup and Recovery.

this is what I did and it ask me to backup my D drive with it
