POLL: Could We Make the Best Game? (In theory)

Oranges

With all the games coming out recently (and not so recently) that have been dissapointments or flops, lets look back and think up a game that only the pc community could make... the best videogame of all time, with the community making the ideas (not the game). Yes, this may seem stupid, or crazy, but in theory (and hopefully realisticly) this could work. Now, what exactly would we want from it, and who would we want to make it?
If I missed anything in the polls just mention it and I'll edit it as soon as I can

It has been edited

The community cannot make a $500 000 game. You need a company to make that.

That's like asking everyone in the world to recycle their plastic water bottles. Not gonna happen.

Go ahead and try. I would like to see you organise thousands of people who don't know how to code into creating the best game in the world. And sharing the profit.

I don't need to try, only succeed. That is what I do. Except it's only me, not thousands of people. I'm just that good.

It can all be done with decent funding and a team thats dedicated and talented with no care for consoles  if you have that then the sky is the limit ...

Less Silly Note: Many companies don't need any more than 100 people to make their AAA titles, just saying.  :P

Exactly. Why would you bring an entire community into something than can be done by a group of less than 100 people? (or sometimes only 1 person :) )

Thousands of hours of work on a game will make enough money to pay the person, or group of people who made the game. Not 10 000 people in the community who each barely did anything, and 99% was coded by the one person who knows how to code a game.

It is only fair that the person who did all the work got the money. The rest of the people are useless.

In other words, OP is basically saying 'Let's all make a game by telling one person what to do and we get paid too even though none of us know how to code our own game!'

The rest of the people are useless.

I will take this small bit completely out of context and show it to the world, because that is just the kind of good-hearted person I really am.

This is a flawed poll... Weapons options "less than 50" or "more than 100"... what about somewhere in-between?!

guess you choose the closest ofr that last bit

I didnt vote because most of the options arent nearly enough relevant to making a good game.

Nice idea, but this game could be anything. We each have our own idea of what the perfect game is. You would need an organised team of people to come up with a project, decide on the type of game it's going to be then decide on mechanics. Grabbing ideas from a poll is nice but it can take the vision of the game off track.

Three games I will always want to play:

1) A Pokémon PC game, MMORPG style. Controlable pokémons or not, IDC, as long as it's a lot of godamn freaking fun. A mix of old GBC Pokémon red/silver/etc and N64 Pokémon Stadium. With only the first 150 or 250 pokémons, OBVIOUSLY.

2) A game similar to RuneScape with its own engine, P2P, not pay-to-win. Medieval, magic, chopping down trees, farming, fishing, all that good stuff.

3) A new version of GunZ online. One of the few games I have ever played that actually needed you to have finger ability(read speed). Really miss it, my wrist aches are gone but I miss it anyway.

I find simpler games better. I'd just like a re-imagined vigilante game.

No need for customization.

8 vehicles, all unique.

Third person fast paced 'tactical'

Weapon pickups/'active' levels

Your the first Poll poster to want that besides me, congratulations.

Roughly, I doubt there is a practical poll for such a complex thing, it would atleast involve neuroscientific terms for causality, and how to cause the desired perfect effects is very dependent on the combination of chosen effects and the subjects in question.

You could put psychological differences, it is unlikely u can make a perfect game for more then 1 person because of their uniqueness.

and from a mondial perspective this means u use utilitarism to maximise the best product outcome, with no equity bias. GL measuring fun, which once again is probably not your goal,

ok actually, defining the goal of a perfect game would be 1 practical poll question.

is it fun?(pleasure)

learning?

perhaps learning something specific like empathy (which majority are clueless and dont even know the definition of the skill and is the derp that will add [most benefits to all apsects of reality/ressources used].)

maybe it could be something unexpected:
