Could a TV antenna cable be interfering with WiFi?

minimoose

So I have a pretty weird issue.  My Asus RT-N66U is about 35-45 feet away from my living room and the room leading into the living room get super fast WiFi but as soon as I step into my living room I lose WiFi.  It only happens on certain devices (My iPhone and a HP laptop are some) but on my dad's Moto G and a Surface RT it works great, my sisters Macbook Pro is not great but OK.  The walls into the living room not thicker than any other walls and I can leave the door open and it doesn't help.  There are no microwaves in my house and no wireless devices in the living room at all.  The only thing I can think of, is that the TV antenna coax cable running above the doorway is messing up the signal, I'm not sure if that is possible and it happens even when the TV is off (not sure if the antenna stays on anyway).

Any ideas?

PS.

Also does the signal on the N66U come out the top of the antennas or the base?

The wiring in a house can interfere with wifi. Especially if it is an older built house. The signal comes form the tip of the antenna, I have the same router. I have it at the back of the house with the antennas pointed in a fan fashion. Like \ | / to cover my house. Just try adjusting the antennas because even the slightest movement has made a huge difference with signal quality with mine. Make sure the antennas are facing not straight up, but not straight down in their little "groove" ( you'll feel it.)
