I started in 2007. God, what a great game it was back then.

I made my account in 2007, only played for about a month though. Definitely not a hardcore fan or anything, but I could understand why people liked it.

I spent far to much time on that game. It all started when we got a new computer in 2005 with a Pentium 4. I spent a solid 5 years on that game and probably over 4000 hours

Why. OSRS is boring.

New one is even worse though.

I made an account in 05, and played it for the grand total of 3 hours. And I've never played it since.

Can't remember exactly what date but I play for about 4 hours cutting trees and cooking and my friend said I was playing wrong and that I should play as a "pure". I got bored and gave up

I played it for a good year or two, then gave up. I realised that all was going to happen was I'd reach 99 in everything and then have nothing else to do. And I was paying a subscription for it. I found combat pretty tedious and the requirements to do certain quests/make certain items meant you had to do skills you didn't enjoy (such as theiving/hunter which are super grindy) in order to get them. Also you pretty much HAD to use the wiki to complete quests unless you wanted to spend days of play time completing them. If I'm paying for something, I don't want to have to do something I don't enjoy for my money - so I cancelled the subscription.

 

There were some really nice people though - a few players gave me armour they didn't need anymore and gave me skilling items which was nice, but I'd rather have earnt it myself.

I still play from time to time.

The main game has gone to shit, but OSRS (2007 server) I enjoyed a lot when it launched last year.

man i miss these times, it was glorious back in 05-06, being online the whole day while skilling and chatting with friends, man i get kinda nostalgic when i think about it.

 

i started playing again recently, partly dissapointed and partly not, it kinda stayed the same since i left(2009) but also changed quite alot, these days i log in 3 times a day mostly to check up on my GE progress, busy making qutie some money right now to do something i didnt think about yet. :rolleyes:

God, if I could re-experience any game in the world, it'd be Runescape.

Started playing in 2005, quit in 2012 when Squeel of Fortune and Solomon's General Store took over. 

I play Old School on and off now.

2006 player here, it was really awesome back then.. along with 1.6. 

OSRS isn't quite like it.. guess times have been changed along with the community.
