3 Monitor Setup

Eckdayz

I am thinking of doing a 3 monitor setup for WoW and other games. I also play CS:GO so I am thinking I should have a 144hz monitor in the middle and 2 60hz monitors on the side? Would my GTX 680 2GB handle that or would I need to upgrade or SLI?

The monitors I am thinking of getting are:

2x ASUS VS24H for the left and right displays

1x Ezio Foris FG2421 for the middle display

My PC Specs:

CPU - Intel Core i7-3820

Motherboard - ASUS Rampage IV Formula

RAM - 16GB Kingston HyperX Ram

GPU - ASUS GTX 680 2GB

Case - CM Storm Trooper

Storage - 1TB Western Digital Hard Drive

PSU - Huntkey 900W

Display - ASUS VS24H

Cooling - Corsiar H55 Fans

Keyboard - Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013

Mouse - Razer Naga 2012

Headset - Razer Kraken 7.1

OS - Windows 8

for 3 monitors at all 1080p for gaming, i would suggest 2*280x..

i suggest 280x because they have a wider bus and a bit more Vram, allowing them to use more Vram in total over the 3 monitors, you will also need to make sure that your gpus can output near 144hz otherwise a 144hz monitor isnt going to be worth it.

also remember most games dont support crossfire/sli

I think the 680 would be fine for a single 1080p 144Hz monitor or 3 1080p 60Hz monitors in CSGO with all settings maxed but you will probably be going under 144Hz with 3 1080p monitors unless you drop some of the settings, not sure about WOW because I never played it. I don't play much GO but IIRC my 680 with a slight overclock runs it between 140-180fps at 1080p with Shadowplay enabled.

CPU's make the biggest difference in MMO's like WoW so another graphics card wont make as much a difference as it will for others.

PC Rig: Intel i7 4790k CPU, 2x Sapphire R9 290 Graphics, MSI Gaming 7 Z97 MB, 8GB DDR3 2133Mhz G-skill ripjaws, RAID0 2x Crucial 500GB MX500 SSD, RAID1 2x 1TB WD Black HDD, Corsair RM1000W Gold PSU, Noctua NHD14, Corsair 750D Case.

When I play WoW I will be using all 3 monitors, but when I play CS:GO I will only be using my primary 144hz display with the other 2 monitors on Google Chrome or something. On my current setup I am currently getting 300 FPS on CS:GO with my GTX 680 2GB.

Would a GTX 780ti be able to run 2x 60hz monitors and 1x 144hz monitor?

My main display (Ezio Foris FG2421) can go up to 244hz, so I need to know if the GPU can support it or I would probably just go for a 144hz monitor.

Not sure what you mean about the 2nd question.

But as for the 60-144-60 scenario, if your running a triple display in a game, all the monitors need to be synced to the lowest refresh rate, ie you cant have one running at 60 fps, another at 144fps and one more at 60, they all need to be 60 across the board.
