New Intel build. I got a few question!

Hello Everyone!

Just got done with my new intel build and Have a few questions!

Overclocking : If I just increase the multiplier to 4.0Ghz coming from 3.30Ghz should I leave the voltage alone ?

Also I Noticed the clock speed of the cpu likes to drop around 1.5Ghz when doing nothing.

Is there anyway to keep it running at full speed ?

Bios : What Intel stuff should I Leave on and what should be disabled to get the most out of the cpu.

If there is anything else you guys want to add be my guest!

Thanks for the help!

About the overclocking I would say multiply marginally until you reach 4.0 stable and raise the voltage if you have to.

You could leave the voltage on auto. I believe.

I own a AMD CPU so it may be different but disable turbo mode.

Only over volt it if you're water cooling or have a good air cooler.

blackshades on

at stock voltage, increase the multiplier till your pc won't post, then turn up the voltage and increase multiplier again.

rinse repeat till the max or to the point you are happy with the oc.

try going into windows power management and going to the advanced power settings then go to processor power management and then minimum processor state and upping it from the default percent that windows gives you to change the idle speed

Got it! Thanks!
