3D Mice

I just got the 3DCONNEXION space navigator for the 3d modeling i am doing in class and work. it works very well. if you do 3d work i would definatly recommend a 3d mouse of some kind. but its has uses outside of CAD work to. I have it as my scroll on google chrome and my two side buttons are the keys for switching to next or previous tabs. Wouldn't buy fr surfing the internet but defiantly is cool. Anyways, has anyone configured a 3d mouse as a joystick for pc games? ive heard that you might be able to do it but never heard of someone doing it. What are your thoughts on configuring a 3d mouse to be a joystick?
