Which Archiver Do You Use?

Hey everybody! I just want to know what archiving software do you use? (and which OS if not using Windows 8.1). I use 7-Zip with a custom icon theme that makes it looks as if they are native Windows icons. (Aero not Metro)

The main reason why I'm posting this thread is because I find 7-Zip too outdated, and I can't find another archiver with aesthetically pleasing icons. (I know, I'm weird. Sue me)

On my gaming PC, WinRAR and RAR files are my go-to type.

On my Mac (my main computer), I prefer ZIP files, as they're natively supported without any 3rd party software. But at one point I got Stuffit Expander off the Mac App Store, which will do basically any archive.

Side note, my iMac G4 has Stuffit from like 2001, so it's a pretty established brand, but not super-popular :)

Looks like WinRar and 7-Zip are the most popular.

I used to use stuff it standard I forget what version but I got it from one of those software bargin bins back in the day.

WinRAR, everything else is just non-intuitive.

How so most after market stuff's interface is nearly the same.

7-zip alpha FTW!

What's better in the alpha, than in the stable version?

Many many things since the newest stable version is many years old. You can find the alpha in the discussion on sourceforge to read more.

Thanks! I didn't know that! Can you get aero themed icons for the alpha versions like in the first post?

Archive Utility.app in OS X.

I honestly can't believe Windows doesn't come with one.

Yeah, even the basic built-in archive application in Ubuntu works well and is compatible with a lot of file types. Why can't Windows have one like that?
