My Future build

The_GTi_King

Hello everyone!

Right, here is the problem, I am trying to build my own pc but, I am spoiled for options, however I do have a fixed budget around £1000 or less. (less = better for me :D)

I am trying to have a PC that does anything I throw at it! Gaming is my 1st priority, 2nd comes medium video editing.

I am not going to play at 1440P, 1080p is my target for the time being with high res off course! (everything at max) Plus I am only going to use one monitor. (if that's one of the questions)

I am NOT sure what motherboard to go for or what make to go for eg; MSi, Asus etc etc.....

Case wise, I can not have anything bigger then mid ATX tower due to space limitation :(. well something cheap yet good :P

What PSU make shall I buy? I will need 750W for sure in case I add another GPU in the future

I am not even sure about what ram speed to get but, I need something cheap yet good ones again :P

Please if you have any questions, feel free to ask me :)

Thanks for any sort of help and I really appreciate it :D

I swapped the CPU out for a i5 4690K and upgraded the GPU to a r9 290.

Other than that the build is pretty decent.

Hmm, the i5, I didn't see that coming! so when I am going to render a video with special effects etc etc, what am I going to use the most? the CPU or GPU?

Thanks for your answer TheKDub :)

How much is light video editing? as said before i7 will benefit from it more but getting your budget below £1000 is going to be tight.

Erm well, I am not going to use adobe after effects a lot, TBH I am still learning how to be a good video editor, the reason is because I will be helping my sister uploading videos to YouTube :)

However, i am not doing anything high-end with this PC :)

Thanks for your question :)

It will mainly be the CPU, though the difference between the i7 4790K and the i5 4690K is not very large when it comes to render times, the i7 has maybe a 20-40% increase over it, I put in a better GPU as it will allow you to run your games on higher settings while maintaining 60+ FPS.
