how do you fix a broken .mp4?

My friend and i are doing a Minecraft timelapse and a video that was 2 hours long ended itself about 1:55 mins into the recording. i know there are ways you can fix these types of files, but none of them seem to be free. 
anybody know of a good, free program that can fix .mp4 files? or even one tht has a 30 day trial or something?

im new to this forum so i dont know if this is in the right place. if it isnt, can a mod please move me?

If the MP4 is corrupted I really doubt you can fix it.

The mp4 has been broken in some way and if there's no data there's no way that a program can just "know" what was there in the first place.

This is why you make multiple copies onto multiple drives.

there is data there, there is 1:55m of data.

also, it was recording when this happened, it wasnt like there was any way to copy it at all because the video was still being made.

I meant to say that if there is a gap in the codec, you can't just guess what's there, even if you had all the computers in the world guessing for you, because the data simply isn't there. The rest of the video is irrelevant.

If you have a Mp4 Can you upload it to a drop box or something so we can download it and maybe try and fix it.
