Wireless Networking Troubleshooting

Devices:

PC-LAN

Laptop- wireless n x2 

Laptop- wireless g

Printer- wireless n?

iPhone 5c- wireless n

Oppo Find 7a- wireless n

 

Router/Modem Combo- Arris dg860

Service- TWC Turbo 20/2

 

Problem: Father claims he had no issues with disconnecting until I moved in. I have my pc connected over LAN and my phone the find 7a wireless N. Frequently, when he reboots his computer the laptop (Wireless G) will not connect to the modem. Even after resetting the wireless adapter it no longer connects. I have to reset both the modem/router combo and the wireless adapter in order for his pc to connect. He is running an old acer aspire one laptop with windows 7 starter.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out what is going on. I have no idea. I do have access to the router settings.

Change your wireless settings on your router to 'G Only'.
