Looking for a new camera

I'm not 100% happy with my Samsung NX11, so I'll be looking to replace it and thought I'd see if anyone here had some camera suggestions.

I've watched quite a few reviews and such but there's tons of different options out there.

I do have some requirements.

 

Must have a fold out screen.

I take a lot of pictures from over subjects and it just makes things easier.

 

Must be good at macro shots.

This takes out DSLR's and most CSC's. It has to be able to focus within 1cm.

 

A hot shoe would be a huge plus.

Being able to have more powerful flashes is never a bad thing.

 

Screen with at least 921k pixels.

I've used cameras with less, and I just prefer the better pixel density.

 

Budget

Anywhere up to $700, but ideally I'd like to spend as little as possible while still getting the requirements above.

 

I'm replacing the NX11 because it doesn't handle close up shots well at all, and lacks a fold out screen. Other than that it's been an excellent camera, and I love the large sensor.

I've been looking at a lot of bridge cameras, since they tend to have fold out screens more often than not. There's also the RX100M2, however it's about a hundred to two hundred dollars more than the other options I've looked at.

 

So far the Fujifilm Funpix S1, Sony RX100M2, and Panasonic FZ200 are front runners.

Macro lenses can be up to $600 by themselves.

 

My 35mm Prime can get decent macros, but nothing super fantastic. Definable not 1cm though.

Yes, but a DSLR is still ~$600. Add that, and we're at around $650.

That's $250 more than a bridge camera. I'd only consider going up to that price range if it was more useful to me, like a pocketable RX100.

I'm also not sure if that'd allow me to get as close as 1cm

As far as I am concerned Macro shots are best with a macro lens. Kit lens are not suited for macro period. So you one requirement will cost you money. As far as that goes most DSLR's in that price range aren't hard to find... Just look around the webs.

Erm...I said I wasn't interested in a DSLR because of the cost.

Might not focus within 1cm but it does give you 1:1 magnification which is good.
The camera has a universal hot-shoe.

Screen is 921K dots and is tiltable.

You can always buy new lenses later on if you need to.

That's actually a really good deal, and I do like how Sony crams APS-C sized sensors in such a small body. However if I was shelling out that kind of money, I'd want a camera that's a little more multi purpose.

With only a macro lens, I'm really limited. At that price I'd be looking at an RX100M2, or RX10.

I was hoping some people would have some lower cost options I hadn't found yet.

....but damn that's a nice camera.

 

The lens only fixes part of my issue, the tiltable screen is definitely a requirement. Unfortunately the NX11 has got to go.

That actually was one of the ones I was looking at as well, I just hate how the front doesn't have a built in cap.

ya my friend has one, he is getting the optional cap, which being Olympus they charge you quite a sum for it
