Haha, yeah. Ivy Bridge-E will become ALOT cheaper now because of the X99 Chip set replacing X79.

You will need to spend a fortune on the new RAM as well.

I most likely will be within the next month or two.  I'm a big fan of my R4E so I'll be getting a R5E for sure.

Not all of the parts died. One Titan Black survived, so did my ram and my SSDs. I lost roughly 2,5 Grand. Also that 4930k was probably worth over 2000$ alone. (Talking 5,3 on water)

I'm going to wait until they come down in price, probably about early 2016.

That's a shame, at least you have that HTPC around as a backup. Also at least one Titan survived.

I would if my bloody local retailer would bring in x99 and ddr4. The CPUs were available since a few days ago but the board and ram is still like 2-3 weeks away.

I just ordered a 5820k for $344 from Fry's a little while ago... The question I have to ask myself is why am I spending slightly more on both my motherboard and my ram than the CPU cost me.  Mobo is 400 and ram is 380 but 25 off for newegg combo.

Either October, or February I will go to 5820k when I do my special build..

5820k is not a bad price

and mobos for X99 are nicely priced also. So all in all I am just spending a couple hundred more..
